Come hang out as we talk about an Iowa game that was surprisingly less painful than we expected, thanks largely to Jeremiah Smith.
I, I, I did have that same thought when they were up 10 to six with Iowa having the ball.
It was exactly like the, we kind of talked about before, that was, I don't actually think Ohio State's going to lose this game, but this has potential to just be like, feel like I'm being drug through glass naked sort of game.
And, um, luckily that's not really how it played out.
It was perfectly fine kind of from that point on.
Um, but yeah, there was at least that little bit of a, of, of fear.
Again, I didn't really actually think that they would lose the game, but 10 to six with Iowa having the ball, I was like, "Good God." Like, "They're gonna go, they're gonna be down at the half, aren't they?" But it was fine.
Yeah.
Yeah, it was fine.
It was good even.
I, I mean, like to, to beat-- I, I believe it was like the most yardage a team has had on Iowa in quite a long time.
I, I, I don't have the stat pulled up.
I should have.
But, uh, um, it was something like the most points or most yards that an opponent has scored at Kinnick in like 10 years.
Yeah.
Um, I'd believe that, but I, I think it-
Still felt unsatisfied, yeah.
[laughs]
It did.
It did, and I knew it would.
Like there, there's just, the way Iowa plays, and they're good enough.
Like, like str- as, as much as like we talked about Iowa heading into the game, like th- there wasn't really a chance that Ohio State was gonna lose that game, like they're always good enough.
Like they're always pretty good and they have an identity.
Like that's kind of like the kindest thing I can say about Iowa really.
Um, and like j- it's a genuine compliment is like all of these teams throughout the Big Ten have had, kind of had their rise and fall, and Iowa's had that too.
Like they've had, you know, their Rose Bowl berths and like the times where they're like legitimately Big Ten contenders, and then the years that they're kind of, kind of shitty.
