Bryce Underwood's the best thing that ever happened to John Mateer as well.

John Mateer, uh, and I, I, I was holding some John Mateer, uh, tickets last year.

Just not a, not a great player.

No, this was a, a, a tough game for him.

Very tough game.

But, but Bryce Underwood, people say everything about Bryce Underwood that they probably otherwise would say about John Mateer.

I mean, Oklahoma is giving me shades of Michigan and vice versa.

If anything, Michigan might be a little bit more evolved in that they kinda stopped trying to throw it with Bryce Underwood a week ago.

By the way, apparently Michigan people think I don't like Michigan after the way we talked about the Michigan-Oklahoma game because we were more down on Oklahoma than, I guess, complimentary of Michigan.

Um, it's always such a surprise to me to find out who I hate.

Well, here's the thing, Dan.

Bryce Underwood was better, but he was better within the very rigid walls they put around him.

So, uh, Bryce Underwood, uh, nine completions, 111 yards pa- passing yards, 87 rushing yards, so you know.

That's something.

And, uh, those are not great numbers.

But I really didn't feel like that Oklahoma's actually a five-and-a-half point favorite because I knew Michigan would play hard.

And Bryce Underwood, I mean, that dude showed up and played out and Again, it just seemed the same narrative for Oklahoma.

Average play at the quarterback position, have a hard time running the football in a conference where you have to run the football, and offense and line couldn't protect.

And really, when you look at what Michigan did as a defense, They rushed John Mature with three defensive linemen and really were able to take away any type of threat offensively down the field.

The turnover in the fourth was insane.

I mean, it's like, dude, Underwood is terrible.

Just punt the ball, and you're going to go to overtime, and you'll have a 50-50 shot to win the game.

The only way you're going to lose the game is if you throw an interception like you did right there.

So shout out to Michigan, man.

They nutted up here, and they rose to the occasion, and Winningham's still a good ball coach.

even though Underwood's terrible.

Yeah, they only had like 260 yards of offense.

And Coach, um, offensively, I know last week you spoke to the media on Monday and talked about, you know, everyone's jobs, including your own, uh, coaches, that nothing is infinite.

How did you communicate with Bryce Underwood, your, your quarterback, in regards to motivating him and coaching him up throughout the course of the week so that we had a better performance from him in week two than we saw in week one?

Well, first of all, Bryce is an ultra-competitive, uh, young man.

He, he wants to be great, as I've said many times, uh, throughout the last eight months.

Um, I think he'll be, I think by Georgia he'll be significantly better, but um, you could tell it was bothersome, and I think that was part of the, uh...

No, and, and people were griping about the pass rush, right? Um, you can't bas- pass rush Bryce Underwood.

You can't, because if you get too far up the field with him-

Well, and also, like-

It's never on time.

And Bryce Underwood, don't think you're getting off scotch-free because your defense played well.

You were terrible again.
