Jeremiah Smith

I mean, obviously you got the Manning factor as a big part of it too, but I mean, Ohio State coming off a national title a couple years ago, no shortage of star power.

Jeremiah Smith's one of those celebrity names in college football.

Uh, thank you, Marco, I appreciate that.

It's a Long- it's Longhorn too, by the way.

Uh, B- Buckeye defenders around there can't pick it up.

I mean, obviously we got blown, overthrown touchdown passes, Jeremiah Smith dropping touchdown passes, missed field goal, m- multiple fourth and long conversions by Texas.

If they don't get any of those, they lose the game, and we got completely different narratives going on right now.

So I guess my main takeaway from it, I mean, it's inexcusable for Ohio State to lose three of the last four games when they had the best roster.

And not only that, but I think most people would agree that this team needs to be offensively led, you know, right now, especially right now as they're replacing so much on defense.

And so, you know, why you wouldn't have the confidence to say, even though they hadn't done a whole lot in the second half, hadn't done anything in the second half, why you wouldn't want Julian saying Jeremiah Smith and those guys on the field with 55 seconds left in the timeout to go win the game.

And you only need 45 yards or so to, you know, to kick a field goal.

Anyways, I just, I don't, I just don't get it at all.

So I'm pretty sure that defensive front can use that guy more than five snaps in a game.

And so I think it certainly starts there.

Then I went to Legend Bay and, you know, For all the emphasis that Jeremiah Smith gets in that offense, and rightfully so, and we saw it almost be good enough to win a game on the road at Texas.

The struggles to get other guys to ball and get other people involved in that offense, well, okay, once again.

After having as much success as they had in the first half, I thought they looked lackluster down the stretch.

I thought that they really keyed in too much on Jeremiah Smith.

Like, Julian Fane looked panicked, frankly.

Like, I was... wholly unimpressed with Julian saying in the second half of this game.

And I think that with smothers coming in, that has been a huge part in addition, by the way, to a great receiver room, in addition to a great running offensive line.

And then obviously what they are defensively.

Yeah, what did you think about Texas' defense in that game? Because it felt like in the first half, there's really no game plan for Jeremiah Smith.

If you play a zone, if you double him, he's going to win no matter what.

It would be interesting and good to see those guys get utilized more.

And I think you're going to see one half of football again for Jeremiah Smith.

And then, you know, this is going to be very much like the Ball State game, except I expect the offense to kind of click from the outset and not necessarily go three and out like they did against Ball State.

Defensively, in terms of Ryan Day even said they've got to find ways, more ways to get Kari Wilder involved, whether that's at defensive end, where Zion Grady is out for not a long-term situation, as Ryan Day said, about both Phil Daniels and Kari Wilder, Zion Grady, not expected to be long-term things.

We had Arch Manning.

We have Julian saying, obviously Jeremiah Smith.

We'll talk about him when we get to the wide receivers.

Ohio State takes the big commanding lead.

And then what we saw in that second half of the game is what makes Arch such an intriguing prospect.

It would make some, I feel very confident without injury.

He's going to be the first pick in the 2027 NFL draft, unless it's a team that is so not needed at quarterback and they take Jeremiah Smith over him and don't trade down one spot, but there'd probably be some type of trade.

I believe Arch Manning will be the first pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Yeah.

Jeremiah Smith, the one ball, and Julian Sainz is accurate as any quarterback, man.

The dude's unbelievable.

And he puts one behind Jeremiah.

At the time, people acted like Marcus Freeman had destroyed the entire season.

Notre Dame eventually went all the way to the national championship game and basically until the last drive where Jeremiah Smith caught the ball on the last drive.

That game was in question.

That same year, who did they play? Ohio State.
