DeVonta Smith

You know, I just laid it out there for you guys.

Um, you got a veteran wide receiver in DeVonta Smith.

Uh, you have a strong running game, and not only that, like, he missed a lot of camp too with the injury.

Missed a lot of camp.

So Dontayvious Wicks, probably gonna replace a lot of that A.J. Brown deep stuff, right?

Yep.

Uh, DeVonta Smith, he can basically run anything and, and threaten all levels of the defense.

Mm-hmm.

If you have a start-sit question involving a 49er, the most likely answer is yes.

Wide receiver 13, DeVonta Smith going up against the Titans.

Just a small knockdown.

I'm not too worried about it though, guys.

He still went out there, had a 24% target share and an every down roll.

Not great, weeks happen, and honestly, the way Washington was just blitzing, I think Jalen Hurd was under too much duress to necessarily look downfield as much as he probably wanted to with DeVonta Smith.

So not thinking we get that same sort of just, again, great defensive effort against the Titans.

They made Geno Smith and company look really, really good in Week One.

But Tom Braly last week loved the Dontayvion Wicks over prop, which totally hit.

I didn't wanna steal it, so I went with under on DeVonta Smith, which actually hit too.

But what do you like about Dontayvion Wicks this week against Tennessee?

When I dove into the tape, I was...

I really loved the way that the Eagles used him.

I did not really like the way they used DeVonta Smith.

And so unless these two things flip, I think this might be a consistent trend for me, where I like Wicks, you know, at, at cost, so to speak, where I don't like DeVonta Smith at cost.

Sure.

And DeVonta Smith was in center field for the Miami Marlins.

Rasul played really well the only play that I think I really saw a minus on him was and it's it's kind of hard even to call it a minus because it was a great throwing catch was the third down throw to Devonta Smith down the down the sidelines that's a tip

your hat right sometimes you just got to tip your cap and and and move on throw even better catch

Our buddy Dave Zangaro tweeted out the quote from the special teams coach in Philly and was like, man, that was an awesome play.

Now, what I do like is tearing off, and I think you have a Jalen Waddell, a Devonta Smith, someone that's worth a mid to late 27 first.

You can get these guys added on to that, and then you get two pieces to kind of work with.

Great analysis there, guys.

Titans lack strength in cornerbacks.

So, Wicks is running plenty of routes along with Devonta Smith, giving him big play outside.

Yeah, I think he's going to be their number two for a while until my guy lemon.

They kind of feel more comfortable with them.

And so I think that you'll see a lot of that matchup.

Devonta Smith is fantastic.

And you're going to, I would, again, I'm guessing just based on archetypes here, but I'm assuming that you will see a good deal of him against I think Elante Taylor is somebody you'll see a lot of Devontae Smith matchup with.

And that's an interesting one because Elante is a more physical archetype than Devontae is.
