Not expected to be a long-term thing, but really no reason to push him out there.

This is an opportunity for Gabe Van Sickle.

This is an opportunity for, you know, I mean, I'm going to guess you're going to see a bunch of different guys out there.

They are probably going to roll guys on that offensive line to a certain degree.

You know, Sam Greer, if he's back yet, he could be – factoring in somewhere at that point where he's pushing somebody.

We'll see some of these freshmen maybe get into the game.

But also for Gabe Van Sickle, if he plays really, really well, does this force the coaches to think about, well, what if he stays in the game? And at that point...

it becomes a Philip Daniels, Ian Moore decision again, and then where it is Austin Searvel going back home to left tackle, and I don't think Gabe VanSickle can do enough in this game to warrant being a starter, but he can do enough in this game to warrant a conversation to where do you get back to running a rotation at right guard, trying to figure things out? I don't think he can rotate where if you're rotating Austin Searveld, you're kicking him out to the right tackle.

Yeah.

If Gabe Van Sickle shows more of the Indiana version of himself than the one against Miami, I and we don't know for sure.

Again, for an injury update, those aren't going to be out on the availability report until next week.

But Philip Daniels, we also don't expect to play.

So if Gabe Van Sickle maxes that out, if he does that and is playing against Illinois, what does that mean for that group moving forward? It's great to have depth.

And you can say that it's six of one, half dozen of the other with Gabe Van Sickle or Philip Daniels out there.

You know, is that actually the truth? Is it still dead even between them? Or is there a potentially higher ceiling with Gabe Van Sickle on the interior and Austin Serval at right tackle? This is...

a pretty key quarter like i know that might sound like hyperbole and an exaggeration but what he does with this chance against kent state is gonna have maybe more long-term implications than anything else that happens well because it's not

And again, that's a great point.

It's more about what Gabe Van Sickle does at right guard.

This is a what does the holistic five look like with Gabe Van Sickle at right guard and Austin Sarabelle at right tackle? I think...

and i'm i know as i said 10 minutes ago i'm not a talent evaluator but i think the talent the ceiling for this offensive line is higher with gabe van sickle at right guard and austin saraville at right tackle i think that it the ceiling is higher i think the floor is higher with philip daniels and austin saraville so the question is How much has Gabe Van Sickle been able to flush what happened against Miami last year? And is there any way we're actually going to know that before we head to Iowa? And I don't know necessarily that there is.

I mean, one of the strengths of Illinois is up front.

I think their defensive line could give Ohio State a fairly decent.

And we also know that Philip Daniels isn't going to be playing.

So what we're going to see from the starting lineup is what we saw at the end of the Texas game with Gabe Van Sickle in at right guard, Austin Sereveld in at right tackle.

And that is one of the options we had as a potential starting lineup for this group.

So that'll be just fine.

At left guard, you got Jake Cook.

At center, you got Josh Padilla.

At right guard, you got Gabe Van Sickle.

And at right tackle, you got Deontay Malone.

And they didn't do it.

Now you got Gabe Van Sickle in there at right guard, which makes things even more interesting because we could have a Wally Pip situation.

If Gabe is really good in these, this next week, or even the next two weeks, if Daniels is out for the Illinois game and Sarahville proves once again, that he's the best tackle on the team.

I mean, like, how do you even go back to the other formation? So, It is an interesting time for this offensive line because they know they need to be better against the good teams.

But now with Phillip Daniels, he's probably not going to play tomorrow.

You're kind of trying some different options, right? We'll get to see Gabe VanSickle with the starters a little bit more and also Sarah Lowe.

What does he look like as a right tackle? What does Carter Lowe look like? as a depth piece.

But I think right now they are not quite what you thought they could be as a veteran unit who just spent the last nine months understanding that so much of the season is going to ride on how good they are or not.

Mm-hmm.

Would you want to get a look at anybody else at right guard besides Gabe Van Sickle? Should they run Padilla out there with the ones? Should they run Jake Cook out there?
