On the latest edition of The Game 365, Seth Shaner and Brian Inglis break down the keys to Ohio State succeeding in its second big game atmosphere of 2026. They also talk about Michigan being at a…
Brian InglisHostIs getting revenge, quote-unquote, a factor in your opinion for this Ohio State football team?

They're not gonna say it publicly, but we all know what happened in the Big Ten championship game and that, frankly, it was a big deal l- hot last year for Ohio State to win the Big Ten title 'cause they haven't done so since the year 2020.

They were coming off a national championship in which they did not even qualify for the Big Ten championship game in 2024.

So Indiana stood in the way of one of their objectives and thwarted them, and frankly did so in a manner in, in which most Buckeyes, especially fans like us, thought that Ohio State was the superior team, but they were out-executed and out-decisioned, in my view, by Indiana, who obviously went on to win the national championship.
This goes back to kind of even the things you were saying a few weeks ago about this era of college football.
But this era of college football says just, just win and, and survive and advance and those kind of things.
Um, you and I had a chat earlier in the week on the phone about kind of the perception, and again, we're talking about the Buckeyes.
The, the perception though, even weeks after that Big Ten title game that, that, well, Indiana took it to Ohio State.
And, and respect where it's due, Indiana made the plays it needed to make to win that game, but it's 13 to 10.
It got talked about, in my opinion, as if it was, it was a dismantling of Ohio State, and then it also, like, people just maybe don't remember, I suppose, that Ohio State had the ball twice in the second half where it drove the length of the field and was on the doorstep inside the 10, even at the five-yard line.
Next time they kick a 22-yard field goal or attempt to kick one because Jayden Fielding missed it.
Remember the one though where a, a lot of us thought he got out of the grasp and, and rolled back out and the officials called him down because they said he was in the grasp? Man, I've seen plays like that let go in both the NFL and college, even this year.
Um, your thoughts on that game and kinda what, what effect can it have on, on this game?

Well, that was the first game of last year where the Ohio State offense was put in check, and sadly it would do the same thing into Miami.

But they were only able to manage one touchdown, and you n- even if you gave credit at that point for Indiana for being a top five team, you never really thought that they could physically take what Ohio State did well away from them, which was obviously score points, especially with Jeremiah Smith and Cardale Tate.

To their credit, they played very physically on the front seven and harassed Julian Sand to the point where it was tough to run offense, um, in the second half for Ohio State.
