That's clear, right? There's no Sonny Stiles, Arvel Reese adding pressure off the edge.

Even Caden Curry, I'm still waiting to see it out of Kenyatta Jackson, and I don't even think Caden Curry was, was, you know, all-star level defensive end last year.

So like, you've gotta figure out ways to cause problems for quarterbacks.

And again, maybe it's just fatigue, uh, but when I watched, re-watched that fourth quarter, I mean these guys aren't even trying to get around their offensive linemen half the time.

And the prevailing thoughts throughout Buckeye Nation is you have got two former head coaches as your coordinators, two NFL head coaches, and that right there, along with, and, and what it took to put that together, right, the most expensive coaches pool in the country at Ohio State, um, uh, it should be a massive advantage from whoever your opponent is across the field from you with Ryan Day, Art Smith, and Matt Patricia.

Matt Patricia, widely considered all year last year as the best defensive coordinator in the country in his first year at Ohio State, a first year that saw him field a defense with, you know, we've talked about it before, set it and forget it players, right? All Americans, high-end first-round draft talent, and other guys like Caden Curry, who wasn't anywhere near a, a first-round draft pick, but as a college football player, dominant in his, uh, final year at Ohio State And a lot of advantages for Matt Patricia last year.

He takes over this year, and we're gonna see what he's really made of as a college coordinator.

We'll talk about his first game here, [laughs] what I consider the first game.

I always loved that one.

Round six is Edge Caden Curry out of Ohio State.

And then in round seven, they had two picks, and they took Seth McGowan running back out of Kentucky and wide receiver Deion Burks, a guy that I liked out of Oklahoma.

Let's get your post-preseason grade on this one, Andrew.

I watched him a little bit in the camp in preseason and didn't see as much as I was hoping for.

Maybe my expectation was just too high.

I do like Caden Curry, though, a lot going forward, and I didn't get a chance to follow him much this preseason, but he was one of my favorite picks at the time just because of that proven production you have there.

He doesn't test well athletically, but, man, he just fires off the line.

I started thinking about specifically the wars that Sonny Stiles and Arvel Reese and this Ohio State defense went through.

I mean, Caden Curry, even two seasons of Caleb Downs, when they got into these insane high-level situations, the amount of experience, trust, continuity was there.

And this Ohio State defense, I think, is super talented to live up to the reputation of a group that has been in the top four nationally for, like, the last four years.

I like the pieces.

Yeah, I love him.

Um, yeah, but you know, I, like the question is he's been a really good player, but can he be the breakout player like Caden Curry was last year?
