Jacoby Jackson

The running game, Bo Jackson is weird to me because this season he seems to play harder and better when he sees somebody, a teammate playing hard and better.

Jacoby Jackson did that.

And then he would start running harder, and then Isaiah West did it in this game.

Then he's running like – then Bo Jackson comes out and runs like a guy possessed.

They're doing all the things.

And I don't know that they have anyone that's like really doing that this year.

Jacoby Jackson was probably the guy who was the most complete pack for them.

And then of course got his foot hurt in the, at the end of the Maryland game and has been out since then.

They're 13th in rushing explosiveness allowed against a Buckeye run game that's ranked 102nd in that metric.

Ohio State, they are missing their running back Jacoby Jackson, receiver Brock Boyd, and the tight end LeBlanc.

As far as hidden yardage is concerned, Ohio State's first half margin plus 14.9. That's fifth in FBS.

Oregon's is minus 3.2.

He's for sure the third best running back in that situation.

On the goal line, if Jacoby Jackson is my first choice, if he's not available, Isaiah West is my second choice because the dude comes downhill and runs tough, right? And so...

You give the ball to Bo Jackson.

He gets short.

It's on, it's touching really every part of the coaching staff.

And, you know, yes, they've been injured, not just Julian saying they didn't have Jay Timmons on Saturday night.

Um, it's it's a little bit still wild to think that a true freshman nickelback is the most important player to your defense and then everything unravels if you don't have him but there's not really any changing that right now and we don't know for sure if he's going to be ready to play with that hamstring issue against Oregon on Saturday but you know whether that's him whether that's Brandon Ennis being injured whether that's you know getting Austin Sarabelle back to you know full strength and full speed by Saturday Jacoby Jackson whenever he's returned like This thing isn't going to get dramatically better.

There are still going to be more injuries that happen over the course of the year.

That might have been a big play in the game.

What about Jacoby Jackson then? Is he gone for the season with that foot injury?

That's my understanding that the only way we're going to get him back would be in the playoffs.

Yeah, and here's the thing.

We don't need to go into all of the details because that's four different shows where you're talking to Jay Timmons or Andrew Houston, Austin Searveld.

And we're not even mentioning the starting quarterback or necessarily Jacoby Jackson at this point, or maybe we could, I'm still not convinced he's going to be back.

If it's Liz Frank surgery, that's could be, could be on the shelf for a while, but getting healthy time is to me, it's that's step number one.

Yeah, it is step number one.

Like Luke Fahy was but you lose your startin You've had injuries on the offensive line, losing Philip Daniels, losing Austin Searveld.

I think Jacoby Jackson was a huge one, losing, you know, Brandon Innes didn't play tonight.

But, you know, the offensive line, I think, have been big.

Man, the injury to Edgar Houston at the end of that game was, at the end of the game where it's like, man, the game is basically over, and then he has an injury, and I don't know what it was, but it did not look good.

And if Jay Timmons is back next week, boy, that's a big help for this Ohio State defense.

You're working with real fine margins right now.

but it's if you get him back that's a big step forward and you know i i think jacoby jackson's probably coming back at some point probably maybe it's at least possible but you have the other running backs have were pretty good tonight i mean honestly pretty good tonight and I do not think this is an all hope is lost, abandon hope, all ye who enter here.

I don't think we're anywhere near that point right now.
