Shavuot (Pentecost) Teaching and The Book of Ruth

[sighs] Okay, so now we're recording Shabbat Shalom, Shabbat Shalom.

This is a double Sabbath weekend, and today is the 49th day of the Omer.

And we're gonna go ahead and open in prayer.

We're gonna discuss a little bit about today, the 49th day.

We're gonna discuss a little bit about Shavuot, and we're going to really press in and get ready to meet with our Creator on a whole new level, hopefully this weekend.

I want to point out one of the ways we fight fire.

I'm not a firefighter.

One of the ways that the firefighters fight fire is with fire.

So you burn out anything [laughs] you burn out anything in advance of the fire that it could consume, and it has no fuel, and it puts it out.

And I think that's the pivotal opening point of our study today.

So Yahweh Elohim, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, we bless your holy name.

We praise your holy name.

We adore you.

You are righteous and good and loving, even to the wicked.

You show mercy to all humanity, and in your grace and in your mercy, you have been slow to anger.

We know that it is time, that the judgment is at hand, that you are bringing forward fire to destroy the dross and the wickedness from the world, and specifically in your people, as we must be refined as gold, and some will be refined as silver, not gold, simply to be prepared to meet our King.

Because you deserve holiness, righteousness, and humility.

We thank you for the trials that are in our life and that are coming that will embolden us to walk in faithfulness to your truth.

We thank you for the humbling and correction you place upon our lives.

We ask that those who are resistant and rebellious, who are arrogant and proud, that you would cut through that stronghold right now and until you return.

That none of us would be stiff-necked, that we would stand uprightly and walk in humility and righteousness, that we would not simply outwardly look righteous, but inwardly be righteous and be completely born again.

We love you.

We bless you.

We adore you.
