Unleavened bread

And when the death angel came and saw the blood, it would move on.

The very next day was the feast of unleavened bread.

And for seven days, the people of Israel were not to eat bread with leaven.

And then the Sunday, the very first day of the week, following Pesach, following Passover, was the Feast of Bekrim, or the Feast of Firstfruits.

The day was a day of thanksgiving for the firstfruits, of the harvest, thanking the Lord for the harvest on down through the year.

And then the next feast was 50 days from firstfruits, called the Feast of Shavuot, or the Feast of Pentecost.

Now those feasts, Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, and Pentecost, were the spring feasts.

After the summer came the fall feasts.

The proof that these holy days that are contained in the Hebrew scriptures are important to you, if you're a Gentile Christian today, is the fact that Jesus timed his earthly ministry to God's holy days.

That should tell us if Jesus was crucified on Passover, buried on the next holy day called Unleavened Bread, rose on the next holy day called the Feast of Firstfruits, then gave us his spirit on Pentecost, which is called in Hebrew Shavuot.

That should tell us there's something about these holy days that everything that God is doing, he's timing to them.

That's why they're called the God's appointed days in Leviticus 23.

However, we also know that Yahuwah is also doing and also did something through Yahusha, not just for Israel, but for all nations.

of mankind and so we have the seven feasts that represent appointed times concerning the work of redemption the work of empowerment and the work of restoration we have already finished studying all about the first group passover unleavened bread first fruits we studied all about shavuot we studied about trumpets but today we're going to see how trumpets fits into the picture, the concept of how everything points to our King Yahushua.

So let's go ahead and look at the book of Leviticus 23, 23, 25.

Then the Yahuwah spoke to Moses saying, speak to the children of Israel saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a Sabbath rest, a memorial of blowing trumpets, a holy convocation.

And so what makes the Feast of Trumpets, Yom Teruah, distinct and different from the other feasts? For example, Passover, we know it points to a historical event.

This is what undergirds it.

Unleavened bread recalls the Exodus.

Tabernacles recalls Israel dwelling in booths.

Passover.

Yes.

So, uh, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, uh, which is also...

Or maybe it's part one.

But anyway, you have the Sabbath, Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Firstfruits, the Feast of Pentecost or Weeks, the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Booths.

So we've got eight different categories that we're going to touch on, right? And the scriptures are super clear.

Why does God do all this? Well, in Deuteronomy 6.12, he says, "...take care lest you forget the Lord." Who brought you out of the land of Egypt? So what's the point of all this stuff? So you'll remember.

And so Leviticus 23, starting in verse 5, says in the first month, which is on the Hebrew calendar, it's Abib, but then the Babylonian name becomes Nisan.

On the 14th day of the month at twilight, it's the Lord's Passover.

And on the 15th day of the same month, is the feast of unleavened bread.

So you have two feasts, Passover, and then bam, that begins unleavened bread, right? To the Lord.
