And we will look, and we will look into the heavens, and we will see our Yeshua.

And we see that in Zechariah 14, Ezekiel 47, Isaiah, and elsewhere.

And those of the posterity and your families who have been scattered, God will show them mercy.

It's all through Hosea, Isaiah, Jeremiah.

There was a scattering of the children of Israel, but those spring festivals, when Messiah came the first time as Mashiach ben Yosef, the suffering servant, he came to show us, and the very first fruits of the believers, he came to show us, I should say the first fruits of the gathering of the believers, he said, this is how you obey the Creator in spirit and in truth.

Now, you got scattered because you were naughty.

So the person who prophesied that there would be an oasis and that the desert would bloom again, you know, there's Mashiach ben Yosef, Mashiach ben David, there's these prophecies that the desert will bloom again.

So the person that kind of starts that prophecy is David Ben-Gurion.

And so when we talk about building an oasis zone, he wasn't talking about occupying anybody.

He said that the suffering servant in Isaiah 53 does not refer to the Messiah per se, but it's rather a metaphor for the nation of Israel, which historically suffered at the hands of Gentile nations while remaining God's witness.

He also said other ancient traditions spoke of two distinct messiahs, Messiah ben Joseph, the suffering savior who dies in battle, and Messiah ben David, the ultimate conquering king who resurrects the first and reigns forever.

So, how does the church address these seemingly compelling arguments about multiple and different messiahs? Is Jesus the suffering servant messiah who will return as the victorious messiah, or is there something else that explains the two messiahs, or is that simply just wrong thinking? That's a nationalistic savior.

In this chronology of events, I will limit myself to the beliefs that are most widely held by the largest number of Jewish theologians, as well as just those events that directly pertain to the coming of the Messiah and his actions.

Messiah Ben Joseph's Wars We have already discussed the fact that the Jews believe that two messiahs will come in the last days.

The first messiah figure, Messiah ben Joseph, is said to fight great wars with the enemies of Israel and be completely victorious over them.

In one sense, we could say that the first thing the Jewish world expects to see in the end times is a man to fight and win wars against Israel's enemies.

Biblical Connection I detailed in chapter 3 how Daniel 11, 40-45, describes the Antichrist doing this exact thing as one of his first acts.

He completely subdues all of Israel's major enemies, including Egypt and a coalition of Arab countries including Iran, Iraq, Syria, Turkey, and others.

So the suffering servant is Yeshua in his first coming.

In the later period, the kingdom of God on Earth was usually conceived as established by the Messiah, the anointed king, a figure derived from various passages in the prophets and not of wholly consistent attributes.

Among the current imaginations were those of a Messiah ben David, who was to be triumphant, and of a Messiah ben Joseph, who was to suffer.

Occasionally also in the apocalyptic writers, there is no deputed king or Messiah at all.
