So, we mentioned that this is going to be a segue into a crash course in the history of the Jews, right in the beginning of their conquest of Eretz Yisrael with Yeshua, Moshe Rabbeinu has passed away.

They came into Eretz Yisrael, and one of the people who became infamously known In the very beginning of that history was Aharon Karmi, who was also given Skelah, he was given Mitat Bedin, whose story is mentioned in Sefer Yehoshua in basically Perek Zayin.

We'll go through a lot of that history right now.

It was an absolute miracle.

So you can imagine, now the kavod of Am Yisrael.

What happens, and Yahushua makes a harem, Yeshua makes a harem that nobody touches anything there, right? Nobody touches anything.

You're not going to take anything.

The fact of the matter of it is, and I don't agree with all the theology, but that's okay.

You know, Purpose Driven, your purpose in living your life, our purpose is to bring glory to God, to worship him, to remember him, to testify about him and Yeshua HaMashiach, to converse with him.

Reminders on purpose.

This is what Moshe or Moses did.

Build one doorpost.

That's how forgetful, that's how, that's how a forgetful heart gets sharpened back to attention.

In Mark 12, 28 through 30, a scribe asks Yeshua, which commandment is the greatest? And our dear Savior said this.

But the bottom line of Yom Kippur, it's a very multifaceted, uh, biblical holiday or, uh, commanded assembly, or Moed, a divine appointment.

There are so many messianic allusions during this season.

The trumpet that will sound at Messiah's return, the atonement he made for sin, the hope of resurrection, his millennial reign, all of these things are part of our expectation during this season.

So a question that arises quite naturally, I think, among Messianic Jews is, as those who have received Yeshua and forgiveness of sin and the gift of the Ruach HaKodesh and who wait for his return, what do we need to repent of on this Shabbat Shuvah? Aren't we the chosen remnant? The royal priesthood? As Peter says, the holy nation? Isn't that us? We got it.

What are we repenting of? Leading question.

It has a special place in the hearts, minds, and memory of of Jews for centuries.

In Messianic Judaism, because Yeshua spoke about the fulfillment of vows in the Sermon on the Mount, the Kol Nidre either takes on the character of a reenactment of an ancient tradition or is modified to represent Yeshua's clarification in Matthew 5, which we actually read earlier.

Let your yes be yes, your no be no.

Let me read that whole quote.

In the upper room, we know that the disciples did not close their eyes to pray because they saw tongues of fire descending over the heads of everybody receiving the Holy Spirit.

How would you see that if you had your eyes closed? So you can pray with your eyes open or closed as you see fit.

So, Father, in the name of Yeshua, we acknowledge your sovereignty in our lives.

After Yeshua's era, it kind of slowly went away.

In Gemara, we have the discussion.

Who wrote this Pesukim? Is Moshe going to write about his own death? So one opinion says it's Yeshua who's writing about his death,

which isn't

And so he really didn't say, but you can kind of deduce he was following current events, as well as probably doing some kind of number crunching and looking at apparent patterns in society, the world at large.

One of the things I did explain to him, which he really, I don't think, understood, and to be honest, not very many people explain it, is that while I agree in broad strokes with the idea that Yeshua in his first coming fulfilled the spring festivals, Passover, Unleavened Bread, Pentecost or Shavuot, and then in his second coming will fulfill the Feast of Trumpets, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, and Sukkot.

while i can agree with that broadly speaking there are prophetic themes of course seen in the spring festivals which depict end time events in association with yeshua's second coming as well as the fact that there are things in the fall festivals and hebrews makes it pretty clear that yeshua's sacrifice at golgotha fulfills the sacrificial requirements of Yom Kippur.

There are things in the fall festivals which were fulfilled in Yeshua's first coming.

So it's not as clear cut as some people or as simple as some people want it to be.

And that was kind of like a shock.

definitely depicts the future anti-messiah, anti-Christ.

Excuse me.

That means to say that the time of Ezra, at that time, because they overcame the idolatry, they didn't serve idolatry anymore, that itself served as protection for them like a sukkah.

That's why indeed the Pasuk in Nehemiah refers to Yeshua as Yeshua, the hay is taken away.

A little bit, to some extent, there was like a flaw on Yeshua's part that from the time of Yeshua, they weren't able to overcome the eight seraphim for idolatry.

Now it's interesting, you know, why specifically does the Gemara say that it protected them like a sukkah? The Pasuk is telling us that it made sukkahs.

We're saying it's a protection like sukkahs.
