[gentle music] Okay, everyone, I have Josephine Lauer here, and I am so excited to interview you today because we will be touching on a subject that we haven't really gotten into on the podcast before, and I think it's really important to shed light on.

I've already introduced you formally, but will you please introduce us, Josephine, in your own words, who you are, what you do, and we'll go from there.

Thank you so much for having me here, Summer, and sharing me with your audience.

And I'm really here to sort of weave the ancient esoteric traditions of tantra into this modern day reality that many humans are struggling with in their dating, mating, and relating, right? So I can also be considered a sex, love, and relationship coach.

And really, I'm also weaving in this field of somatics in my understanding of the nervous system, polyvagal theory, how we can support humans in their journey of healing and upleveling and growth and evolution with learning how to really listen to the body as guide.

So how does one enter into this world of somatic intimacy coaching? Like, I mean, how did you get into this? 'Cause this is so specific, and it's not one of those where it's like, you know, I was holding a crayon coloring tantra books when I was five.

And, you know, yes, we could actually go all the way back to childhood, and just to name and presence that I was raised by my mother, who was an artist, and my father was a CFO.

So I was, like, raised in this household where my mom was, you know, really primary caretaker and around my sister and I most of the time.

And I was kind of led through this lens of an artist of how to interact with the world via all five senses, right? And, you know, my mom was one of those parents who there wasn't a lot of nos in our household.

It was like she really allowed us to express ourselves, explore ourselves, lead with our curiosity and wonderment.
