Especially for kids that came of age during a global pandemic where their worlds were severely limited outside of the Internet, it makes sense that the Internet would be the place where they developed habits around communicating with their friends.

Social media can also be an incredibly important lifeline for LGBTQ plus folks, especially those who are looking for resources for help or how to cope or for connecting with other similar kids.

That's not to say, of course, that there aren't horrific things happening to kids being facilitated by the Internet.

Bullying, harassment, trafficking, those are all things that the Internet helps to facilitate.

So swingers, polyamorous, as well as those who are not just your standard individuals who are in a, what you would call like a homosexual relationship, or excuse me, a heterosexual relationship, a heteronormative relationship.

We expanded that out to the LGBTQ communities.

The individuals who are in transition, individuals who may not really feel like they have a, you know, one set thing but are interested in kink in the various lifestyles.

So we kind of opened that door up and we were flat out blown away.

I think also timing came into effect right there.

Our local dungeon fell.

We had a very large growth in our LGBTQ communities here.

We had several groups that started to grow and flourish.

And then it got expanded, I believe, last year, the year before, to if you need support for your second child.

But yes, single parents and LGBTQ.

Like I'm under 40 now.

Um, and I think there's one or two other terms and conditions, uh, even linked to BMI levels, but same, same, same sex couples, male or female, um, single women like myself.

[laughs]

"... opportunities for disasters." Uh, let's go to Türkiye now, this massive anti-LGBTQ campaign.

It's a worrying crackdown by the government.

Oh, my word, it is.

Yeah, 162 people arrested in total in this crackdown in 12 Turkish provinces, essentially, uh, targeting, uh, gay bars, known LGBTQ plus areas, haunts, homes of, uh, known activists.

162 arrests is, is quite something across 12 Turkish provinces.

They previously targeted the Pride Festival in Istanbul in June.

As such, while the focus is on LGBTQ+ journeys, I want to share the stories of all people who have found their way to success.

My hope is to have this platform for all of us to be together while listening to successful stories, amazing life experiences, inspirational journeys, as well as having good laughs and lots of smiles.

It's about challenging the problem of sexism, which we're all socialized to accept in our thoughts and actions from the time we're born.

She invites us to imagine, what would society be like if we changed our own sexist thoughts and actions? How could the world transform for the better if we transformed ourselves first? Similarly, scholar José Muñoz invites the LGBTQ plus community to embrace utopian thinking as a source of hope and joy.

In his book Cruising Utopia, he argues that queer literature, art, and drag shows offer a kind of utopian map, a way of dreaming up other ways of being in the world, and ultimately new worlds.

Queerness challenges how things are, and models something different and better.

But my word, the what if and the what are they doing questions are still there.

And then Turkey's anti-LGBT campaign.

It's a warring government crackdown.

I think more than 60 people arrested so far.

Mm-hmm

... local ties as a local owner, as a member of the LGBTQ+ community that could speak to owners on that level.

It was basically Cape Cod companies, national companies, and individual operators.

That's what we had there.
