So there's a fusion of it with...
Josephine LauerGUEST

And this is, I'm speaking a little bit about, there's different, you know, branches of Tantra, and I've studied what's known as Nondual Shaivism, and as well as Neo-Tantra, as well as shamanic sexuality.
Josephine LauerGUEST
17:19
So just to presence that my dissemination of this is based on my own studies and all the immersive containers that I've been in, all of my guides, which I can share in my bio as well, because one would never want to culturally appropriate or take something from the past and then apply it to modern times without being in this awareness that we are living in very different times than when it came about over 2,000 years ago.
Josephine LauerGUEST
17:48
So I do think there's something to speak into with this modern interpretation of it.
Summer ParadisoHOST

Yeah

... are fully embodied in Tantra, right? There's so many different paths.
Josephine LauerGUEST

But when he brought the more embodied definition of it to the West and formed Neo-Tantra, it really became this, during the '60s and '70s, this path of liberation.
Josephine LauerGUEST

And as we were living at that time in this country, th- you know, there was a lot of the sexual revolution, the hippies, right? [chuckles] Woodstock era, like that kinda thing.
Lucy DKHOST

But I love that as well, the find God in everything and like the God is in everything.
Lucy DKHOST

And I think that was actually one of the biggest realizations for me in first experiencing Tantra in general was kind of coming to understand the misperception of Tantra as a path that is purely about eras or this kind of like neo-Tantra or like the westernization of what that means and actually coming to understand that tantra is truly about understanding and seeing god in everything and i was wondering in terms of your path like what you feel like that has enabled in terms of the way you live like i think when you think about your life before um whether it was like the atheist hannah or the farmer hannah or whatever part of your journey it was versus now i feel like when you're very established in your practice and your path um what do you feel like the biggest like way that you feel that show up in your daily life actually is like how do you feel different
Hanna WilliamsGUEST
41:33
yeah that's a really good question I think that okay these are just the words that kind of come to mind now I feel more awe and wonder at the fact that I get to give God a ride through my experience on a daily basis And then because there's like a saying, this doesn't come from my tradition.
Hanna WilliamsGUEST
41:54
This is actually a Sufi teacher that said this.
Carla CrivaroGUEST

A lot of Jungian theory comes from things like Buddhism and Tantra.

And then around the late 1800s, something along those lines, there were people that found Tantra and made Neo-Tantra, which is what everybody now calls Tantra, which is taking... sexuality as a path of enlightenment and so Tantra is in essence about exploring yourself, your limitations your beliefs, your stories about yourself through sexuality and so Tantra temples are a way to do that and you get lots of activities and things to do beforehand until the play space is open and what that means is then you can approach someone and say hey do you want to do this together and then you communicate and decide what you want to do Then you have things like sex clubs.
Carla CrivaroGUEST
49:11
So, and, you know, oh, going back to the conscious ones, they generally like drug and alcohol free.
Carla CrivaroGUEST
49:17
Then you have things like sex clubs.

I've been dipping my toes and studying Tibetan Tantra as well as classical and Neo-Tantra around India and Tibet.
ParadoxGUEST

And I'm by no means an expert, but I have been learning through a Tantrika who's been in the field for well over a couple of decades.
