Timberwolves Preseason Takeaways So Far: First Looks at LaMelo & Ant

If there's one thing I've learned, um, I did get my DAZN subscription figured out.

Uh, the boomer in me was able to figure that out-

[laughs]

...

so we're good there.

Um, all the different play-by-play people are gonna have to work on a lob call.

Yes.

Is, is what I've noticed.

Is that, like, the main takeaway? I know we're gonna dive deep into a bunch of different things, but, uh, lobs early and often.

Yeah, I mean, it sounds different, or, or it sounds obvious to say this, but we've been talking about it.

It is so different the way they are playing.

Like, I mean, just the style of play.

Ant was throwing lobs.

[laughs]

Owns.

Like, everyone is trying not just the lob pass, but the hit aheads, the getting into offense quicker, finding Rudy.

Um, it, it, it just does seem very real that all of the things that we've watched the Timberwolves do and the way that we've watched them win games over the last several years is going in a completely different direction.

And so it's exciting, it's fun, but I think there's gonna be times too where they try to force something that isn't there.

Oh, yeah.

And, and you'll have to, like, tear your hair out a little bit.

But, uh, it was palpable just being in the building, in the locker room, kind of how fast-paced and how up-tempo and how kind of energetic the whole group is.

And we'll see how that carries over to the regular season, but it, that was the big thing, the takeaway from Monday night.

A little bit of a McDonald's All-American game vibe.

It was.

We're, we're getting there, which is fun.
