Jonathan Kuminga

So that was an immediate red flag that had to be considered when you're building out the rotations was, man, there's not a lot of true, like, power forward size players on this roster, and that made it that much more difficult, frankly, to not have Adu Thero in the mix.

Do you remember, this was, I don't know, maybe within the last month or so, I don't think the Kuminga thing had happened, so it might've been a couple weeks before then, and you would still, you were still hearing rumors out there the Lakers were trying to find another big? You're right about that.

Yep.

I mean, there, there's, the, that's, they're so...

That might then allow him to play some of these other guys I think in their more natural positions.

And that's one of the issues I think the Lakers have.

When we were talking about Jonathan Kuminga for, I think, eight months, I think it was-

Right? Like, you lose Naz Reid, Dante DiVincenzo's basically out.

Those are your two high volume, high efficiency three-point shooters, and you just replaced them with Jonathan Kuminga.

Uh, yikes.

So, um, I have my questions there.

There was Pat Spencer going Sp insanity, and then the next week he would get DNPs.

And don't even get us started on Jonathan Kuminga.

Really the only consistencies throughout the last few years has been Brandon Podziemski's gonna get, like, 25-plus minutes in a game, Draymond's gonna get his minutes, Steph Curry is gonna get his minutes.

Aside from that, it's been all over the map, and it's because a lot of these players can contribute equally, and because of that it's either matchup-based A, or it's just Steve Kerr trusting the gut.

So I'm putting him in the front court conversation.

Jaden McDaniels, Rudy Gobert, Jonathan Kuminga, that's another guy who I, again, the commenter said, "What about Kuminga?" Maybe he is a wing guy for them.

I still think of him sort of at most eff- uh, uh, when he's at his most effective, which whatever that is.

Like I don't know what Jonathan Kuminga's most effective is.

Uh, but it's kind of at that four spot.

And then the one guy, and I think that this could really turn some things if he turns, if he himself turns into something, and that's Jaum Baron J. I think that guy can play.

Um, and, and so, like, yeah, we'll see how that...

And also, Kuminga isn't exactly known for bringing the vibes when, especially when he's, he's, he's competing for-

... a, a contract

Kuminga's complicated because his teammates, they don't always like playing with him, but they always like him.

And a lot of-

I don't know if he'll ever be, but he's not a stretch five.

Uh, Jonathan Kuminga does not shoot the three ball well enough to be considered a three-point threat.

And so that's kind of a weird way in which I, I've been able to notice a trend through the draft.

He definitely attacks that through free agency.

I don't want to do it.

Kuminga, the saga is over.

We move on to Duren.

And if you're on the side of Duren, and I mean the side of the real sense, not a fan picking sides between your love of ownership and Jalen Duren.

They're just always used as like a dumb boogeyman.

It's like, all right.

Kuminga, the Kings are prepared to offer him a huge contract.

Oh, really? Also, they're going to trade for Jalen Brown, and they want to max out Jalen Dern, like just a specter of an economically inappropriate and reckless team waiting to overpay the guy that's on your team.

My posture is just not good right now in this chair.

We have, okay, Kuminga, McDaniels.

We have a rookie card.
