I don't like doing the comps thing, but I was reading the great Britt Robson today who did his interview with Chris Finch, and they're talking about the energy that LaMelo Ball is bringing to the facility and stuff.

And I cover the Wolves.

You cover both.

And maybe they carrot him at the end of the stick of like, if you go get rebounds, then you can push.

And LaMelo and Ant and Io and TJ, they'll run with you.

I think it's going to be, I mean, LaMelo and Ant, that dynamic is still the number one thing I think on Chris Finch's board of to-dos for training camp.

But if they can bring the most out of Jonathan Kaminga, again, It would probably be a one-year rental, but I think that would be best for this team, their attempts to be contenders, and for Kaminga.

Uh, Ant, obviously that wasn't his thing, and he did well at times with it.

But a lot of it fell on Randle, and Chris Finch gave the keys to Randle a lot, and certainly, I think, too often.

But the Wolves are basically taking what Randle did offensively and, and what his role was and replacing it with a much better player in LaMelo Ball.

I don't care that they play different positions.

So I have no idea how this is going to work out.

I'm more optimistic than not about this and about Chris Finch and his staff's ability to incorporate these guys and mesh their talents.

But they made a big tradeoff.

They jettisoned their entire front court practically.

I think that it has a chance to do well.

But the other part about it, Ryan, is that when Kaminga takes a deal like this, if it doesn't work, If it's just not working out, like Chris Finch has certainly the autonomy to make a change there and to not lean as much on him.

I do think that he was much more committed to Julius because of his all-star status and also because of all the money that he's making.

Well, this is not the same case with Kaminga, and so they have a little more flexibility going forward that way.

And so...

when you think about all of the things that defenses could do to really limit, uh, Anthony Edwards, the mellow ball addresses a lot or as a counterpunch to a lot of them.

And, um, You know, I think Chris Finch, I was reading Britt Robson's, you know, sit down with Finch, you know, at mid-post.

It's a great kind of kickoff piece to the season.

But in some of that is out of Kaminga's control.

And, um, he just kind of sat up on that stage and really did talk about how much it meant to him that Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball were calling him all the time that, that, Tim and Alonzo went down to Miami to see him that Chris Finch has told him about sort of the the position that they envisioned for him and the starting spot that is available for him on a on a very good team and and so it was clear that he was making all of these decisions without looking at the finances of it.

And yeah, I think that can be a refreshing thing.

And of course, he wants to use this opportunity to eventually parlay it into a $20, $30 million plus a per year deal.

Okay.

Kyle Lowry was almost traded multiple times based on a feeling of incompatibility with the coaching staff in the front office, like multiple times.

Okay.

So that can be labeled as toxic, right? That type of, but this is, people work this stuff out.
