Rhaenyra finally sits the Iron Throne and the show immediately asks the only question that matters: can she actually rule? We bring Chris, Professor Tuck, and Callie High Kaisen back to break down…
the hell's going on especially with the time jumps with all that whatnot but uh then you get to season three and uh at least renee is doing something like a little something like because last season i felt like kind of sitting around and like whatnot uh and they finally pushed the plot forward it feels like yeah they're actually pushing the plot forward with her go ahead and all right let's go ahead and take king's landing and everything and then i like how immediately when she takes the throne She has to do all these politics and shit.
She's just in distress, but at the same time, she's trying to be a girl boss and whatnot, trying to keep it together and whatnot.
I feel like it was a pretty accurate portrayal of, okay, suddenly I'm important and all these people are talking to me and I have no idea what I'm doing.
There's also a really bad situation.
Oh, yeah.
She took King's Landing and before that had happened, the Greens... emptied the city out money wise they took the entire treasury and split it and no one knew where it was they were literally broke and they had to sustain an entire city a million million ish people you know they had all these problems with nothing to do to combat it there's no way to pay the wages for the people for the people to get the ports going and the soldiers to keep the order in the streets and the food to be coming through and everything.
So it was a very stressful situation to come into.
They were fairly ill-prepared because they just assumed that they wouldn't have taken all the money or spent it or something of that nature.
um but she was she was a little naive at that point i feel like just going in like that but it's pretty much what happened in the book so
here's my thing and correct me if i'm wrong or not if i'm stepping out of line but like at this point does it feel like renera feels like
look after this
So at this point, is this like, does she really earn the throne or is it more like does she feel entitled to it?
She definitely earned the throne.
I think it's more of an entitlement and I think it's based around the fact that they've woven in this Aegon's prophecy thing from season one with the dagger and the story of the winter coming from the north and all that.
That's not book canon in any way and they've made it a central part of the shows.
so it's kind of interesting because they've made it a prophetic thing um and it just seems like the story dies at some point down to like the lineage um because Targaryens don't rule Westeros when Game of Thrones starts or at any point truthfully um
