King's Landing

Many lords and knights from across the Seven Kingdoms arrive to show respect for the Knight of Flowers, cut down too soon.

The streets of King's Landing are soon awash with a current of silk and lace as they gather around the Sept of Baelor.

For a whole day, the nobility of Westeros stands there until the last rites are spoken and the silent sisters move to escort his body home.

His brother, Ser Garland Tyrell, had stood vigil over him.

My father thought as much.

That is why he asked me to speak to you.

He recalls the aftermath of the sack of King's Landing some fifteen years ago.

He recalls how you were the only man to condemn Lord Tywin's action then, and that of that monster.

Yeah, they really make it.

And this is the interesting part to me is that, you know, the question is, if you control London, do you control the country? And in House of the Dragon, or in Game of Thrones, if you control King's Landing, then you supposedly control London.

the seven kingdoms or however many there were at that time.

Do you, do you think, was there anything to that? Like Matilda controlling London? And I hope I have this history, right? Did that, I know it didn't guarantee her, but should that have guaranteed her being crowned?

And she pushes all the right buttons at all the right times to make sure that London comes out in support of Stephen as they had sworn that they would.

And ultimately that's the reason, well, she and London's support are the reasons that Stephen ends up dying with the crown still on his head and Matilda is unable to depose him for 19 years.

So control of the capital, it's an interesting question, isn't it? Because what does that mean for what's going on beyond the capital? You can control King's Landing in Westeros, but that doesn't mean there's not dragons killing thousands of people out in the countryside and destroying crops and people losing their homes.

And so there is this question of, you know, everything's okay in London, right? does that mean everything's okay in the rest of the country probably it doesn't because so often the fighting isn't in london london is is kind of insulated from all of that stuff and all of the really nasty ugly stuff is happening somewhere else you know it's not very often we see an attack on a full-on attack on king's landing it happens a couple of times i know but the idea is that all of this stuff is happening out far away from these centers of power.

Yeah.

Aegor would eventually return to King's Landing, but not for quite a while, not until his early teens.

Instead, his earliest years were spent at a castle held by House Bracken for longer than recorded memory can deduce.

His Bracken heritage would be front and center.

It's possible.

But she never had the chance.

Stone Hedge is a bit far from King's Landing, and they may have never met in person, very likely.

But Stone Hedge is not so far that the king couldn't visit, which he did.
