Barristan Selmy himself takes the vanguard, his white cloak fluttering as he cuts through the Jaskari infantry.

And for the first time, Daenerys unleashes not just Drogon, but all three of her dragons together.

Their wings blot out the sun as they wheel above, swooping low to scatter cavalry and burn supply trains.

The Yunkish, caught between dragon fire above and Jon's infantry below, begin to falter.

And then the banners come.

Direwolves, sunspears, and the three-headed dragon.

Jon Snow rides at Robb's side, Harry and Karstark close behind, as Daenerys herself descends from the skies on Drogon.

While Edmure handles the defense, the Blackfish goes on the attack, aiming to prevent the two Royalist armies from meeting.

Dani is dreaming of literally giving birth to a dragon.

This creature is black, which is Drogon's color when he eventually emerges from a stone egg at the end of the book.

Here, the black dragon breathes fire onto her, and though she burns and boils, she feels no pain and enjoys the sensation.

It says she felt strong and new and fierce.

The mantra repeats, but now it's shortened to simply Wake the Dragon.

She sees herself very close to the Red Door, then she's flying above the Dothraki Sea with the shadow of wings below and all living beings terrified of her.

This is interesting as Dany will one day ride her dragon Drogon in the Dothraki Sea, and so perhaps the setup is in place for her to blow the minds of the Dothraki by mounting a dragon in front of them in the winds of winter.

And then the final vision is of Rhaegar, perhaps preparing for his tragic end on the Trident, donning his black armor.

The gold cloaks open the gates from within.

The remaining Lannisters, Kevan, Pycelle, and the last of the gold cloaks loyal to Cersei are slain in the fighting, or burned in the Red Keep when Drogon passes overhead.

By nightfall, Daenerys stands on the Iron Throne, its soot-stained blades gleaming red with firelight.

In the ruined hall, Renly stands beside her.

He sends word of this across the Seven Kingdoms, letting them know of his capture.

As the ancestral home of the Targaryens, there is no way she can accept this lying down.

Drogon soon appears overhead, circling slow.

He lands upon the western rampart, roaring as furious Daenerys clings onto his back.

The long night has begun.

From beyond, Drogon roars, Daenerys riding on his back as he unleashes a burst of flames directly towards the Night King.

Fire burns the altar around him, melting the chains to steam and turning the stone red hot.

But the Night King emerges, unhurt.

Suddenly, the dead emerge.

The dead beyond number, leftovers from thousands of years.

Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion roar in unison, unleashing flames onto the oncoming horde, trying to destroy their numbers.

But while the flowers of fire bloom in their ranks, these are quickly trampled aside as the dead numbers seem endless.

So maybe there's, you know, magic hiding places.

So are there, you know, Drogon cousins along

somewhere? Oh my god, yeah!

Okay, and then they start talking about Cersei's trial and how Ser Robert Strong will be her champion, the silent giant.

strongest is the one that leads that's their rule basically yeah

So, even if he doesn't listen, like, if he doesn't bow down and go, oh, you're stronger, you're better, whatever, like, if he tries to fight, then maybe she can just defeat him.

And then, especially now that she's finally figured out, like, I don't need a fancy whip to ride Drogon, like, I just need to, like, do my thing, whatever, you know? Yeah.

So.

Like a dragon that's allowed to just like soar and range 500 miles and, and eat what it wants is probably gonna grow at its optimum rate.

But we do know that Drogon got to be about a 20-foot wingspan in a year and a half, uh, 'cause Dany tells us that.

And then six months later, she's able to, just like she did in the show, Drogon comes and fucks shit up in the slave pits of Meereen, [laughs] and she climbs on his back and they, uh, they alight.

So within two years it was strong enough to bear a full-grown woman, you know? So that is a, an indicator.

The other thing that muddies the water is that these dragons are just exclusively beasts of war.

Hmm

... two years minimum, I would say.

Uh, 'cause Drogon's mentioned as being very large and robust for his a- Like I'd say that's a good indicator that you're gonna, it's gonna take two to three years for a dragon to get big enough to carry a rider.
