So I got to bring up a somewhat controversial topic.

What's that?

I've been debating whether or not to talk about this.

Oh, I can't wait.

So you had on your podcast a few weeks ago, Saban Howard.

Oh, yeah.

And Saban Howard and I have known each other for a while now.

And he's in Utah.

He moved here.

And he's working on this major monument.

And when I first got the, I don't know what he's calling it.

It's The Arch, whatever this enormous arch is, which is a very ambitious project, right?

yeah.

And when I first met Sabin, that was not at all the idea he came to Utah with.

He was working on a monument that was more like the World War I monument in D.C.

There was one flat panel.

It was still monumental, but it was going to go out of state.

And it was potentially going to go to one of like a few locations.

And I'm sure that's the way that this happens with monuments, right? Is that, I mean, who wants the life of a sculptor where you're often, especially if you're doing monumental work, very dependent on on committees, all kinds of, I mean, nightmare, right? The thing that's controversial is that now this monument, he's kind of the governor and his crew have kind of tricked this neighborhood and the system into placing it in a park without the consent of the neighborhood and against the rules that the governor and his committee actually had written up to have something placed there.

And so now there's kind of like this, it's going in a park next to the state capitol.

The park is not controlled by the capitol commission.

that is given it permission.

So that's one break in rules, right? Another one is that there were two other monuments that had gone through a year-long process of vetting that were completely dismissed, but had gone through all this review process, and then Sabin shows up and a backdoor deal was made.
