in a valley that fur trappers held two of their summer rendezvous in before anybody had built a cabin on the shore.

And we're here because in the summer of 1868, a young man from one of the first families to settle the valley sat down and wrote a letter to the newspaper in Salt Lake City, and the newspaper printed it, and the letter said there was a serpent in the lake.

26 years later, the same man said he'd made the whole thing up, the lake didn't get the message.

People have been seeing something in Bear Lake since before that letter, by the letter's own account, and they've gone right on seeing it in every decade since the confession.

And having late model cars stop dead in their tracks while older cars continue to run.

We've had three cases of this reported in the Salt Lake City area in the last two weeks.

I was working for KSL in Salt Lake City and met him.

We were just thrilled to find each other and get married and start our family.

How did the KSL job, obviously at BYU you're working, you probably did radio here, maybe some TV stuff if you're doing the broadcast.

So I'm feeling for all those watching who are dealing with different things in their lives.

We met through my other roommate.

I was living with a group of girls in Salt Lake City and going to a singles ward at the U through the Institute.

And he had been at the University of Utah and was done with that and just kind of working.

What separates this conversation a little bit, I think, is this version of Utah, what Utah looks like.

Because they didn't look like this two years ago when they played in Salt Lake.

And last year, Utah was good, but they weren't top five good.

Now they are.

And that affiliate relationship is one of the greatest values that being part of this organization provides.

Just a few months ago in August, I had the opportunity along with Wendy Jaramillo from the New Mexico Wildlife Federation to spend some days in Salt Lake City.

working with and sharing ideas with the executive directors and leadership teams from the other Rocky Mountain affiliates of the National Wildlife Federation.

And at that meeting, I had the honor of meeting Shauna Hart.

So it was a natural fit to include them on this press release and say, hey, we're doing this.

Would you be interested in featuring this or writing an article on it? So we had a lot of press and we set our expectations low because even though we wanted 25 and 25 isn't a big number in this metro area.

And again, we marketed it to all kids in Utah, even though it was going to be centered around the Salt Lake City area, which is in the northern part.
