It's an American painting.

There was an American doctor named Samuel Gross, he so didn't believe Lister that he would walk into the operating theater, he would slam the door, and he would say, "There.

After the Civil War, however, these landscapes also appealed to a populace seeking relief in the ideal world of a quiet countryside, away from the humdrum of dirty cities that were springing up everywhere, the result of the Industrial Revolution.

Thomas Eakins and Winslow Homer were the great turn-of-the-century artists.

They portrayed American life and scenery with straightforward candor.

Their example has been carried on by some modern American artists who, fascinated with the urban growth of the 1900s, have emphasized the vitality of city life.

And then you have these landscapes on the interior where you can kind of look at those and look out.

As you come around the corner, there's a Thomas Eakins portrait of Benjamin Rand.

And we have that conserved.

It's looking beautiful.

And so, yeah.

And I love Thomas Eakins, but it kind of sucks because he was a little bit of a misogynist.

And like, of course he was, because it was like the late 1800s or whatever.
