In the Hudson Valley, Democratic Representative Jared Golden, who does not represent the Hudson Valley of New York, but Maine's second congressional district, crossed party lines to endorse Congressman Mike Lawler, a Republican, for re-election in New York's 17th district.
Golden is not seeking re-election, but he is supporting Lawler over Democrat Kate Conley, a Special Forces veteran and former Biden administration official.

Golden not making many, keeping many friends on the Democratic side on his way out.
And finally, the fight over a Republican drawn map in Missouri continues after a federal appeals court ordered the state to reinstate the gerrymandered map.
Those following the saga will remember that the state Supreme Court rejected the map earlier this month, which was the second time the court has blocked it.
The decision won't have an immediate effect, and it's likely that the U.S. Supreme Court will be asked again to make a final ruling on the redistricting battle.
The new map was in use for the state primaries last month, and it effectively eliminated the Kansas City-based 5th District, represented by Democratic Representative Emanuel Cleaver.
And we're I mean, we're 40 days away from the election and we still don't know what map is going to be used in Missouri.
But perhaps even by the time this podcast is hitting the airwaves, we might have the updated decision from the Supreme Court on what the final say is.
