yeah subscribe stick around we're here uh baylor shireman was the topic of conversation today at least the topic of my conversation i asked uh i knew the first thing i wanted to ask mike conley whenever we got the chance to talk to him was who impressed him the most right like you got a 20-year veteran been around the league played with a lot of players and he's getting his first impressions of what this Celtics group can bring to the table.

So basically I asked him like, Hey, like, no, it's been two training camps, but you've been here all summer, et cetera.

Has anything surprised you as anyone stood out? And Baylor's name was the first one out of his mouth.

So you can go watch Mike Conley there, but I'll read the quote for the sake of the pod.

Um, I asked him like, does anything surprise you? And Mike only said there's a lot more talent in here than I ever thought, uh, which is funny.

So it's just a very, uh, a really cool collection of guys all have unique skillsets and they're, uh very high iq basketball players just going out there trying to win and i asked him like how can you tell you like a player without seeing them in an in-game setting right like what what sparks that what sparks you to say like oh yeah i like this guy and he said uh it can just be you know as little as one or two possessions he said the other day Baylor I think he got like four offensive rebounds in one possession and I just said I like him like that's all I needed to know I like him I like him a lot and obviously he did a bunch of other things other than that but his willingness to crash and keep possessions alive and make the right reads was impressive and stuff like that sticks out to me so Baylor has caught the eye of Mike Conley and you know I have more stuff that I think is worth of mentioning you know I asked Joe about Baylor Baylor said some stuff at media day that intrigued me but I think we could be seeing a big season from Baylor this year.

we are very very early into training camp but glowing signs for a third year guy who is primed to take on a larger role in the rotation this year he earned a lot of minutes towards the end of the season last year as the celtics started to figure out who they were post trade deadline baylor shireman became a key piece of that recipe and that was a really fun team to watch until it wasn't in the playoffs but you could see the blueprint you can see what Baylor does.

You could see what separates him from even somebody like Sam Hauser, but the other wings that are also battling for minutes.

Well, he knows where to be and he can put the ball on the floor when you need him to.
