31 Aug 26 – Parish’s Confession Time Is a Joke

The inspiration for the show came about from two people, one which will be joining us in the next segment, my brother and a former pastor.

No, don't ever say former.

Once a Marine,

always a Marine.

Well,

not a former Marine.

I was going to say that.

I was going to talk about my other friend here.

He's a former fallen away Catholic.

So he's been to confession recently, but we're trying to get to confession regularly.

But he works weird hours, so it's hard for him to get to confession.

And just the overall availability of confession is, which is lacking, at least here in Southern California.

Most parishes I know offer confession once a week for 45 minutes or for an hour or before Mass for 45 minutes.

And a lot of times it's It's easy to get that schedule maintenance in, but for emergency situations, we'll be talking about it in the next segment and then hopefully give you some good apologetics as how to defend confession.

Because do you know how to defend confession before this in the scriptures, using scriptures or how to explain to a Protestant, you know, this is why we confess our sins to a priest.

This is why we don't go straight to God.

I just, my question will always be, well, even before I was like into our faith, like full blown, right? The one thing you do know is all authority comes from God.

And he gives that authority to his apostles.

And that authority are the ones who represent our priest persona in Christianity.

So in order for me to debate that, Anthony, I wouldn't be the best debater at it because...

When Jesus spoke to me, even to this day, when Jesus speaks, I just obey his word.

Amen.

There's nothing to debate.

He says, do this.

He didn't say, go do whatever you feel like doing.
