Thank you, Ike, for your yes to the Lord, for going deep this past year to be a witness to all of us.

And thank you for coming on the Parishes podcast.

And I think you both get a mug before you leave today.

I think you get that.

But eh, for those of us who have been there, a major transformation in that church.

Um, we've, we've consulted on other small projects, um, in West River, um, helping, um, f- uh, at, uh, Cherry Creek, St. Joseph's Parish, um, timber- or, or the, uh, All Saints pa- uh, Parish in Eagle Butte.

And currently, um, w- or we just recently finished, um, a sanctuary renovation at St.

Rose of Lima in Hill City.

And now we're just ready to begin soon, um, a major project at the, the parish I was baptized and married in, Blessed Sacrament, um, here in Rapid City.

Um, I'm very excited about that project and very proud of all those who have worked, um, to, to keep that goal and, and see it through, um, to this point, um, for that parish.

And, um, actually tomorrow we'll be interviewing with, um, um, St. John the Baptist Parish in Custer for an exciting project that they may have, uh, coming up in, uh, in the n- next year, so.

Very exciting.

Um, and originally we were gonna be hanging out in the gathering space there, but we had a few Wi-Fi issues, so now I get to come directly from the principal's office, um, which is a very exciting thing.

Haven't been in a principal's office in years, um, maybe [laughs] since high school at Trinity.

Hello, and welcome to the podcast for St. Luke's Parish in Darien, Connecticut.

We hope you enjoy this past Sunday's sermon.

Teach us, Lord, to be masters of ourselves, that we might be the servants of others.

It stood just outside the chancel, to the south, and was immediately overlooked by the transept gallery.

Trinity Parish contained then, as now, about 1,500 people, resident in the streets close to the church and in the long outlying district of King Street, the poorer part.

The history of Trinity Church, interesting now above all because of Simeon's long ministry there, is only less interesting when we trace it to the 17th century, and particularly to its first 40 years, the period of the great church Puritans.

It was then, in some sense, the religious centre of the town, as Great St Mary's was, and is, of the university.

I wished rather to suffer than to act, because in suffering I could not fail to be right, but in acting I might easily do amiss.

Besides, if I suffered with a becoming spirit, my enemies, though unwittingly, must of necessity do me good, whereas if in acting I should have my own spirit unduly exercised, I must of necessity be injured in my own soul, however righteous my cause might be.

This week, Stephen Cherry spoke with Marcus Walker, who founded the campaign.

Five years ago, Marcus Walker, Rector of St. Bartholomew the Great in the City of London, set up the Save the Parish campaign.

I'm Stephen Cherry, former parish priest, cathedral canon and college dean, and I'm intrigued by the campaign.

So I sat down with Marcus in the vestry of his church to find out what the issues are and to dig a little deeper into the theology that's behind the concerns.

That's actually what's really needed.

And so a number of us started talking and started meeting online to discuss what was going on and what do we think was happening.

One of the things that I've noticed is when people come in from different parishes, they tend to sit by themselves.

So the senior lunch is inter-parish.

Inter-parish.
