On this week's episode, Stephen and Tim dive into the 1986 Cult Classic, 'Vamp'! Listen as they discuss celebrating Halloween, the Iconic Grace Jones, the Colors of the film, how it holds up against…
I was like, Evil Dead Burn, which... sucked but i mean i still ended up watching it eventually but uh but now we can talk about something that doesn't suck well it sucks in a in a punny way if you want to go with vampire puns but vamp from 1986 starring the the wonderful grace jones what do you want to uh what made you you said you picked this because you would watch it for the first time what stuck out to you that made you want to chat about it and then of course you know we got to talk about those colors man
Yeah, I mean, like I said, it was on my list for forever.
And I feel like, you know, especially during Halloween season, usually like the beginning of October, I'm like, all right, well, like what still have I not watched? For whatever reason, sometimes it's just out of...
it not streaming on something or or what um and there's i feel like it's like the like there's some of these 80s films that like the poster art or even like if i'll pull up a trailer on youtube like if it's like super low res and like not crazy engaging looking to me Like I'm not as inclined to just be like, yeah, I have to watch this.
And I've been hearing a ton of people like hype vamp hype, you know, like this movie is so good.
Um, yeah, for whatever reason, just never watched it.
I'm going to check it out.
Like I've, feels like the perfect night for it.
Uh, and then like, you know, it starts off, it's a frat boy kind of comedy.
I'm like, what is this movie going to be? And then once you get downtown and things really kick off and like, again, the, I mean the colors and everything, uh, I quickly realized, dude, this movie is everything that I love in a horror film.
One of my favorite non-horror films is the movie After Hours.
This is everything I could want.
It's got the slapstick, campy humor that I enjoy.
I was just like...
Done deal.
This movie rips.
I love it so much.
Um, and yeah, that's, I was like, yep, I want to talk about this.
So, so yeah, that's what that brings us here.
No, that's what's wild is it was one that for me, I'd always had that Grace Jones, like in the, you know, the white body paint and the red hair, you know, like I'd always seen that.
And, you know, I guess it was probably the VHS cover as a child because that image had been like somewhere in the back of my brain to where when I started seeing the thumbnail, you know, scrolling through all the time, I was like, I know that from somewhere, but I've never seen the movie.
And finally, Joe Bob showed it one night, but he showed it as a second feature, and I used to barely make it through the first feature.
