I've kind of explained who we are, so I'm gonna move through my slides at pace, but really just so that we can frame everything that's going to follow on after Richard's fantastic, um, insights into everything.

We are everything about igniting and inspiring the world to turn off the plastic tap.So in many ways, we're pro-business, we're pro-solution.

Um, and that's, that's because I come from the world of business, and I believe in the power of business, which is why we come and speak at events like this.

Um, this is a tiny smattering of the kind of things that we do at a Plastic Planet over the last 10 years.

We built the world's first solutions platform, hosted on plasticfree.com. We created Plastic Freeland.

We've actually done this at Blue Earth Summit, which is where we met Fiona and Earthset.

And, and that is a physical manifestation showing you everything of what our future can look like.

And by the way, this isn't a future in some distant land that we're perhaps one day we can't really imagine.

We simply need to switch the investment and the intention and the focus to the right materials that work with nature, not against her.

And we've got two of the solutionists that are gonna talk about some of those in- innovations today.

So working with people like Richard and Dr. Shanna Swan that you will see in a little bit, it's very important for us that we represent the health scientists who, trust me, have been ringing this alarm bell about endocrine-disrupting chemicals and plastic for decades, and they have not been heard.

So we have an absolute responsibility to give a global stage and a, a, a megaphone for their important work.

We live in a world where it's very easy to think that the only thing that matters is carbon.

Let's just fix, uh, carbon, and then we'll, we'll sort plastic out down the road." I want to just give you a slightly different framing of why here I am, 10 years in, still obsessed by plastic, and it's because we see plastic as a gateway to the entire polycrisis.
