House of Lords of the United Kingdom

Well, you know, I'm seeing, the, the word demon, right, is just everywhere now, you know? The Twitter all day has been full of pictures.

There was a really good one today, 'cause I did a video about, um, [ts] the House of Lords yesterday passed a, a, a law in the UK to legalize full-term abortion.

And I know you've had that in some states in America.

I know New Zealand's had it.

Yeah, I mean, what concerns me more is Labour's attempt to retrospectively bring in legislation, which sets a precedent that I'm uncomfortable with because it goes against our fundamental rule of law against retrospective legislation.

And it's interesting because I was reading, actually, the House of Lords Committee, Constitutional Committee, was saying that retrospective legislation is... fundamentally suspect and it should only be brought in as a necessity and not as a desirability.

So my question to Labour is what is the necessity now? Millions have been given to Labour Party, millions have been given to the Conservative Party, but somehow millions coming to reform has required really retrospective legislation which is not really part of the rule of law.

One last thing to add, because this is a live issue as I'm recording this episode.

The Commercial Payments Bill was introduced in the House of Lords in May 2026, and it completed its committee stage in July.

It's not received royal assent yet, so it's not law as it stands today.

But based on current expectations, it could be next year.

Personally, I actually didn't expect that.

I thought it might get through to the House of Lords again.

But one of the reasons that it happened was because of an incredible speech by a MP, I think a Labour MP, Ashley Dalton.

And again, as I say, I put this on the website www.theweefly.com. Go to it.

But you look at the pasteurization rabbit hole, and this is one for another time.

But it's like, there's only a couple of reasons that the Rothschilds spoke in English House of Lords on some of these things.

And one was the creation of the state of Israel, and the other was pasteurization of milk.

And a lot of these laws are basically designed for...

It is not, Ian.

And that's partly because the People and Representations Bill is being discussed in the House of Lords right now.

And that is the piece of legislation that includes that potential representation that potential change and that potential cap on donations.

Now, the question today has been whether there would be a cap on domestic donors as well as donors living abroad.

And within the last couple of hours, Nigel Farage has posted a pretty long video on social media talking about it.

And here is a little bit of what he said.

It isn't happening.

Uh, I started getting messages, uh, from Bob, uh, MPs and lords that I know in the UK.

Uh, just to be clear, Bob is not in the Lords or the House of Lords yet, though he probably rightly deserves to be.

Uh, but the UK has voted down the latest attempt to legalize euthanasia.

So a good few months ago there was a bill, uh, that was defeated, or rather it sat in the House of Lords, was being interrogated, uh, and because it was being interrogated for so long, there were so many questions, that bill failed.

Uh, but then I think it was like two or three days afterwards, another Labour MP, another MP obsessed with death, put in another euthanasia bill and that one, uh, has just been voted down in the Commons, in the House of Commons.

So that's quite significant for a couple of reasons.

It's big.

So it's only a small margin, but I'll take it.
