E161: Can Adam Jiricek succeed with the Blues after Logan Mailloux's injury?

Today on the show, we're going to talk about this Mayhew injury.

He's going to miss quite a bit of time.

And so to cover up the loss of one of their top four defensemen, the Blues called up your check and claimed Justin Baranoff waivers.

We're going to talk about what the Blues have lost in Mayhew and what they might be gaining in the other two players.

We're also going to talk about The roster taking shape after the Blues assigned some familiar faces to Springfield, including Nathan Walker, Oscar Sundquist, along with Jack Finley and Calais Rosen as well.

So the roster is starting to take shape and they are trying something new, it seems, that they don't want to just roll out the same depth players and guys like walker and and sunquist and so um yeah there's there's a bit of a shuffle there so we'll talk about sort of what the the bottom of the roster is looking like uh so yeah we can go ahead and get started um i did want to we uh we wanted to mention as well off of the top um something that that we haven't gotten a chance to to uh talk about yet as we've waited just for for more details to come out but um As many Blues fans know by now, one of the Blues prospects, Matthew Mayich, is in critical condition, has been hospitalized after collapsing during an off-season workout with his team over at Arizona State about a month ago.

And so the Mayich family has been very vocal about Matthew's story and wanting it to be told.

And so there's lots of great coverage out there from Sportsnet, Elliot Friedman did a great interview of them.

So I would recommend people go check that out.

I saw that the Toronto Maple Leafs went and visited them.

You know, there's a couple Arizona guys on that team.

uh matthews and nize who now is no longer a maple leaf but um anyways so a lot of great coverage out there about matthew mayich and and who he is and uh so yeah just everyone should should be keeping them in in your thoughts for sure alec do you have anything else to add on that

um yeah just you know being in the the st louis community i think a lot about community and the ways we we can impact one another and so there are plenty ways to to you know send the mage family a nice message or or just post about it somewhere on social media or uh either way but you know we are always here for the st louis community uh and and the blues community uh and want to bring attention to that so yeah thank you john
