The St. Louis Blues are dealing with some issues right now.

Yesterday had to put Tyler Tucker on injured reserve and Logan Mayu.

He's out eight weeks.

He got into a fight in a preseason game on Saturday against Chicago.

In that, Jordan Biddington, Joel Hofer, and then injured, it's Logan Mayhew and Tyler Tucker.

So that is your opening night roster for your St. Louis Blues.

And I am so, so happy for all of the guys.

Now, again, I want to address something.

I think that a lot of us, a lot of us, um, probably are like Haley.

you do realize that Logan Mayhew and Tyler Tucker, once healthy again, would potentially reenter the lineup.

And what I'm going to say to you is this.

And one other thing, we haven't talked really any part about Tyler Tucker's injury also out as well to begin this one.

So, you know, you're depleted a little bit on the on the defensive side here.

And really that that six defenders, I think, is what you're going to be seeing right now.

They got a defenseman.

I kinda looked at it, I was like, "Ah, cool, he's gonna be here for the next few weeks until Tyler Tucker's back.

And then [laughs] I don't have to talk about him anymore."

You, you, you get him confused by somebody else maybe, and that was it?

more... reps with Montreal and then last season was with Nashville.

I looked at it and said, "Man, there's more offensive upside here for a guy like Justin Barron versus a Tyler Tucker." He's two years younger, he doesn't cost them a whole lot, and I just know the value that Jim Montgomery puts on the offensive mind of defensemen.

And if Tyler Tucker is gonna go through some type of injury or be out for a little bit, I truly wonder if this is just a, "Let's see what Justin Barron looks like." And if for some reason Barron is good and looks like he fits, and Juracek needs to go back down to the minors, boy, maybe they look at this and say, "Well, Barron might be a part of this team moving forward." He's a right shot defenseman, which are rare.

I kind of looked at it.

I was like, ah, cool, he's going to be here for the next few weeks until Tyler Tucker's back, and then I don't have to talk about him anymore.

You get him confused by somebody else maybe, and that was it? For sure.

Look, I don't know what the plan for this is, but when they claimed Justin Barron, who was a former first-round pick, was with Colorado, had more... reps with Montreal.

And then last season was with Nashville.

I looked at it and said, man, there's more offensive upside here for a guy like Justin Barron versus a Tyler Tucker.

He's two years younger.

I think this guy plays into at least what the Blues are looking for with their core, which I originally told J.R. when the claim happened.

It's like not just Mayhew, but boy, if I'm Tyler Tucker in this injury, how does that work in terms of my role on this roster? Because now you're competing against Juracek, Mayhew, and they bring in a Justin Barron who could potentially have a little bit more offensive upside than Tucker.

I'll be fascinated to see.

This is that internal competition that Steen's talked a lot about.

The Blues are having their annual bonding trip in Austin, Texas before they start the season Friday night in Dallas.

We told you yesterday about Logan Mailloux's broken hand that'll keep, uh, him out for a couple of months, and Tyler Tucker's knee injury that's a week-to-week proposition.

This comes 25 years after Bobby Bonilla's pulled hamstring caused the Cardinals to bring up a rookie named Albert Pujols for opening day.

The Blues brought up prize po- prospect Adam Jiricek, who will see ice time for Jim Montgomery.

What I love is up front.

What I love is that nobody's injured other than maybe Tyler Tucker, the defenseman may be out to start the year.

Other than that, everybody's healthy.

Our guy Holloway, he's finally healthy and I think ready to have a big year.
