What else do we have for news? Fraser Minton signed a seven year, $50 million deal with Boston, giving him an AAV of 7.2.

So, you know, making that trade for Brandon Carlo looks so much better for Toronto all the time.

You know, guy that put up, what, almost 30 goals to give up for a guy that isn't on the roster anymore a year later.

So that's awesome.

So not the highest hockey IQ or anything like that, but just a solid defenseman.

Another guy that like Brandon Carlo, ironically, at times in years past, I would look at them and go, I kind of wish the Leafs had a defenseman like that now.

Brandon Carlo, of course, there was so much to that.

The trade return was abysmal.

Brandon Carlo dealing with some injuries as well, all of that stuff and some concussion stuff in the past.

So I think it's interesting that teams are poking around.

We know that John Chayka, not the most quiet guy in terms of poking around and trying to see different options, especially this offseason.

Cause he is only 25 years old.

I guess one of the more classic enforcer types.

Then we've got Brandon Carlo coming in from Toronto.

That's a big change of scenery.

Should potentially be able to play second or third pair minutes, so...

If he can settle somewhere in between, I think St. Louis is pretty okay.

It's probably a little bit of a downgrade on Jordan Cairo, but I don't think it's overly significant, where if you can get a little bit of positive regression from some other guys in the lineup, probably fine.

Brandon Carlo was horrendous with the Leafs.

Some of their moves this offseason, Alex, tell me there's real competition for ice time.

Like you mentioned the other day, hey, Brandon Carlo, it's possible you're a second pair defenseman for the Blues this year, right? The veterans maybe will get that treatment of getting real opportunities there.

And the younger guys have to earn that.

Booch is not a young guy, but he is somebody that has to earn his spot once again in the lineup.
