LIVE OHIO STATE POSTGAME: Buckeyes survive Indiana

Matt Fontana live on our Locked On Buckeyes channel here on YouTube, so happy to have you alongside.

We'll discuss Ohio State by the skin of their teeth getting out of Bloomington with the win.

The injury on Julian Saine, we'll discuss that.

Jeremiah Smith, Jay Timmons, my players of the game.

You had massive efforts out there.

Earl Little making plays, defensive efforts a plenty.

Drop your player of the game, your moment of the game, I think we all know what probably is.

Uh, and I do want to shout out some special teams efforts today, you know, for the Buckeyes.

But, you know, let's just start with, with this game and how it began, right? Um, Ohio State goes right down the field and you think, "Okay, here we are.

This is where this game is gonna have to be played for the Buckeyes with a, a top 10 defense." With their defense, I mean, let's call it for what it is, there's a world that Indiana's defense is even better than their offense.

But you went out there and you said, "We have got to establish this on the jump." And you did it borderline without Jeremiah Smith.

You go down the field, you score the touchdown, and then, you know, you kinda stall them out.

And I was not overly impressed with how Josh Hoover played, you know, in this game.

But beyond that, Ohio State had nothing going.

After that, you had nothing going.

You laid on your defense to stop the Hoosiers offense, and for the most part, Ohio State's defense was able to do that.

Um, you know, I say this in part because I was impressed with what Josh Hoover was able to do a little bit later in the game, but there was points that he was missing wide open guys, and I think he was seeing ghosts.

I think there was times he was in a clean pocket and he moved, and he was missing guys wide open.

And I think if you got a little better play out of Josh Hoover, you're talking about a different game for the Indiana Hoosiers.

But I give credit to Ohio State and their defense because you could see times that they were in Josh Hoover's head.

You saw when he was starting to speed up things and they were hitting him.

They were getting on Julian Saine, too.

It was really a battle of the quarterbacks that were getting hit in this game, so you give defense credit there.

You know, and just, again, that first quarter, even that first half, you had the Beau run that got called back.

You missed the field goal.
