Okay, so first, a quick update about the Q2 redistribution for our mutual aid-inspired giving.
I know that there are some folks that are still kind of waiting to hear back on this.
So for the uninitiated, a few weeks ago we sent out an email to our subscribers announcing that we were gonna be sending our May and June redistribution revenue to listeners who needed help right now, and we kept it pretty open-ended with the submissions.
So far, we've sent payments to, I think, 140 of you, and we have around 100 people left on our list to get to.
But we've saved the largest dollar amounts for last, 'cause we're just trying to figure out if we can pull those off by adding July redistribution money, and if we have to add August as well to make that happen.
So we're just still waiting to hear back from our accountant on that, since those totals are right now based on projections.
But we will send out an email update as soon as the final payments have been made with a little summary of how we approached this, some of the things your support of this show has been able to do for your fellow liars.
So if you aren't subscribed on Substack yet, we're gonna put a link in the show notes for that.
Caro, anything to add?
I just wanna give you your flowers, Katie, because we've talked about this for a long time, but you're the one who kind of initiated that we do it for this quarter, and you have put so much work into figuring this out.
I have spent multiple weekends essentially fully logged off and just being like, "Text me later," and Katie has been completely grinding, trying to figure out, like, multiple payment platforms, like, dealing with fraud.
Like, we had to move our entire financial thing onto, like, a different platform.
It's just been a whole thing this summer, and I just wanna give you your flowers for figuring that out.
I think it's really fucking cool, and you've put a lot of work into making it happen.
Well, thanks.
Well, I wanna give you your flowers for dealing with all my bitching about it.
[laughs]
And, um, also the fact that, the fact that we're kinda coming up short of our goal for this redistribution, Caro has generously offered to personally supplement so that we can fulfill everybody's lists.
Okay.
Well, I didn't compliment you just so that you would compliment me.
[laughs]
Here we go again, circle jerking on our podcast.
Well, that's how that works, baby.
And also shout out to our CFA Ariel, who just deals with our crazy questions all the time, where she, like, thought she was signing on to relatively normal white women with a podcast, and then instead we're like, "Hey, how do we send, like, small to medium sized amounts of cash to, like, 300 random people across the country?"
