Does he need Patrick Mahomes to go in his office and be like, oh my God, do you watch film? Please play him.
Matt VerderameHOST

Like, does he need Bien-Ami to go in there? Like the Kool-Aid guy through the wall? Like, what do you need to see? And that is something that to me is deeply concerning.
Matt VerderameHOST

Yeah.

It almost seemed like he got more attracted to Mia when she's like, I know you, you're famous, as opposed to just her wanting to dance with him.
Alfredo BrownHOST
33:19
And I wonder how much of that just goes back to Matt really sipping his own Kool-Aid and being like, I need to be this or I'm nothing.
Alfredo BrownHOST

And that's where the whole thing with Naomi Aki's character comes from.
Alfredo BrownHOST
33:33
um i'll say this i think that the movie because of the it's a both a positive and a negative because the pacing which i did love i think it forced the movie into doing a lot of tell rather than show and that's a lot of the once again i'm gonna say it again like the bad stories and that's what like that is an actual line from it there's a lot of bad stories about matt's childhood you know and where he comes from and what could lead him to be this dark and then there's a lot of just stuff too with naomi aki's character which i i'm blanking on her name right now the doctor who's working on him where it just felt like there was a lot of exposition in her dialogue where I didn't I didn't feel like I was actually getting a doctor who was desperate for her research or someone who was like really trying to help him there was just a lot of saying very factually like this is what I need to do this is what's happening it almost felt like a weird a weird side stop in the movie where I kind of got taken out of it for a second.

Dave MyersHOST

The guy's just massive, and I think maybe if he loses a step, he'll still be able to be pretty effective in what he does.
