Uh, we have the, the left saying they're gonna put a wealth tax and redistribute it.

In fact, President Trump, uh, proposed the $5,000 for every American, and then Bernie Sanders respond that, "No, I want a wealth tax and $12,000 for every American." So we're in a race over who is going to give away more of our tax dollars when we can't even pay for the government we have already.

Uh, now, Jill, speaking of presidents and their approaches here, former President Barack Obama was, uh, asked about this, uh, late last week, and he said Democrats should take the lead here on developing, uh, an aggressive AI policy here, and that AI should be the center of the Dems' agenda here going into midterms in twenty twenty-eight.

Senator Bernie Sanders has been among those saying, "We gotta hit the brakes.

We are racing off a cliff here." And so he's been one of the most vocal anti-AI voices in American politics, uh, in response to the essay and sort of this agreement over the weekend as Dario, uh, Amodei said, "We should do something." And Sam Altman said, "Sure we should." And Elon Musk said, "Yeah, I agree." And Google said, "Yeah." And Microsoft said, "Sure." Okay.

Bernie's like, "Then what?" How quickly-- You know, if, if the threat is right that in the next six to twelve months AI could take over the internet and shut us all down based on whatever the AI wants, uh, we need to do something ASAP.

I hope so, because the socialism figures in with this same push to vilify the wealthy and the so-called oligarchs.

So Gavin Newsom, since he's been campaigning in South Carolina, Michigan, and Ohio, it looks like, according to the betting markets, his numbers have dropped to a 7% chance of winning the nomination on the Democratic side.

So I know you've known him for a while, but on the national stage, the more people see, the less they like him.

Look, maybe that's true, maybe it's not, but the point is that we have got a brutal and growing fusion this morning of economic wars and political battles between politicians and billionaires and everyday people and investors like you and me, and that is only set to get more complicated.

Democrat House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries announced this weekend that he is joining forces with the Marxist and Democrat Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont in pushing for immediate action on new AI regulation, seeing this as a political winner for the midterm elections and beyond.

Mr. Jeffries told ABC News yesterday that he's gonna be hosting what is really a, an emergency meeting of sorts of his fellow Democrats and socialists and communists to blaze a path forward for AI regulations.

"Democrats will lead on this issue," he said, "if Republicans and Trump will not." To that end, GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson told CNN yesterday that, all right, sure, the AI industry, it might need more oversight, but that it's best to, to leave that up to AI companies to do it themselves.

But I don't want to have false hope that just because the current occupant of the White House is ridden off to the sunset in Mar-a-Lago to build his presidential library in Miami, that all of a sudden trade is going to be this awesome thing that is an unlock for the economy.

Because when Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren and Donald Trump and J.D. Vance all agree on the same trade policy, you're kind of in a weird spot.

They also said that Bernie Sanders would bring out the gallows at Central Park and assassinate everyone on Wall Street.

He considers himself a democratic socialist.

He is a big supporter of Bernie Sanders.

Bernie Sanders came in for him.

And he is definitely also looking for a lot of government intervention on housing.

He is running against Tom Barrett, who is the incumbent and has been long involved in Republican politics here.

Remember that even on the federal level, if it's the U.S. Senate or those running for Congress, housing is on their policy list, which if you looked at four, five, six years ago, housing was nowhere near there.

And now it's really at the top of everybody's list as we talk about housing.

What's the subtext there of the Bernie Sanders crowd, the Democratic Socialists? As rental property owners and real estate investors, what is our takeaway? Should we be concerned about the Democratic Socialists? Because the first thing that comes to my mind is rent control.

Governor Gavin Newsom signed two laws last week establishing standards for independent AI assessment and third-party audits.

But in Washington, it's Bernie Sanders and Greg Kassar who have the most controversial proposal, and it's a strong one, a permanent ban on developing or deploying artificial superintelligence alongside a temporary pause on advanced AI development until federal safety rules are are established.

According to this legislation, people attempting to violate or circumvent these restrictions could face up to 20 years in prison.

That proposal was announced on September 3rd, just before Coxon's resignation became public.
