Happiness Is a Competitive Advantage — And 80% of Leaders Are Doing It Wrong

Can we? So human beings, when we're facing adversity or challenges, Not necessarily crisis, although, you know, that too.

But we all face challenges in life.

There are four different personality types or ways that human beings respond to those challenges.

The first one is the victim.

And the victim is, why is this happening to me? You know, it's only happening to me and not 8 billion other people.

But we, you know, victim mode, very quick.

And they get down and depressed and, you know, they're, so that's one.

The second one is the critic.

And the critic will blame everyone and their mother.

The boss, their colleagues, their direct reports, their spouses, their kids.

It doesn't matter.

The government, the president, they're always blaming.

They're always frustrated and angry.

That's number two.

The third one is what I call the observer.

Mind you, you know, a decent human being.

I'm not saying, but they're so overwhelmed by the rapid change that are taking place in the world.

whether it's technology, AI, I mean, you name it, that they're frozen in fear.

They say, dear, where do the headlights look? So in essence, the game of life is played on the field.

Imagine that this big football field and that's where the game, but they're always in the stands.

They're not participating in life.

And what all three of these have in common is none of them move the needle forward to some kind of positive resolution, right? Either I'm scared, I'm mad, or it's poor me.

And then

we get to the fourth personality type, which is called the navigator.

And the navigator, of course, does a lot of things great and navigates life beautifully and successfully.
