It looks like an impossible journey.

Curiosity gets the best of you, and you hike down into the valley to get a better view of the creatures making this death-defying journey.

They come into view slowly with each distinguishing detail.

A creature of rounded horns teeters on the tips of its cloven hooves against an impossible manmade stone face.

You use grit to hold it.

Curiosity then is the twin power that says, "Okay, go explore.

Go explore other possibilities." And so that is what enables you to separate your identity and begin to think about other possibilities.

Grit says, "I know you think you know the answer, but wait." Curiosity says, "Go explore.

Come up with other possible answers," and eventually you come up with the best version of another answer.

You still don't know if it's right.

Curiosity getting the better of me, I made my approach across the dry reeds and salt grass.

Her posture didn't shift.

Only as I neared did she glance up, the lines of her face etched deep by decades of wind and sun.

We'd reached only the perimeter, not the center.

Curiosity had become our witness mark.

A sudden gust rattled the walls, salt wind, unfamiliarly sweet.

Somewhere distant, lightning bruised the horizon, tracing a lattice over the ocean, as if the conversation would always threaten to resume.

Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Curiosity is a powerful tool.

It shows that you're genuinely interested in what the other person has to say and that you value their input.

Plus, asking the right questions can unlock deeper understanding and lead to richer conversations.

I could actually feel the thing, stay with myself, get curious about it.

Curiosity is literally my best friend.

I must say the word curious so many times every day.

And then allow whatever the thing was to move through me.

Something can happen.

I'll notice a reaction in myself and think, oh, that's interesting.

Why did that bother me? What am I making that mean? What story am I telling myself here? Is it true? Is it serving me? Curiosity has become such a huge part of how I live.

And I honestly think I'll be doing that for the rest of my life because there will always be another layer, another experience, another version of me to meet as my life changes.

Judgment assumes it already knows.

Curiosity recognizes that there may be something we have not yet seen.

Questions allow us to move beyond our assumptions and enter into a relationship with another person and with ourselves.

The tragedy at the Grail Castle is not that the boy lacks the right answer.

Nations see only borders and enemies and forget the human beings living on either side.

Men blame women, women blame men, and both spend far more time talking about each other than sitting down and asking each other questions.

How often do people on opposing sides sit down and genuinely ask each other questions? What have you experienced that led you to see the world this way? What are you afraid will happen? What matters to you that I may not understand? Curiosity does not mean we have to agree.

It means being willing to admit that we may not know the whole story.

Yeah.

Use a question that sparks curiosity.

Make a statement that makes people go, "Hmm, that's interesting.

I wonder why he thinks that way." Curiosity.

Questions, obviously, they make people curious, and use stories that spark people's imagination into wondering why that is part of your presentation.

And the curiosity doesn't stop after the first seven seconds.
