Ides of March

Almost no one does.

On the 15th day of March, 44 BC, the Ides of March, Julius Caesar walks into the Theatre of Pompey for a meeting of the Senate.

He has been warned.

A seer told him months ago to beware the Ides of March.

His wife, Calpurnia, dreamed of his murder, begged him to stay home.

He ignored both.

Mm-hmm.

um it was a show that surrounded these two brothers james and frank and they're like they're like 30s hunting monsters across the galaxy um yeah like supernatural yeah like supernatural um and uncovering this mystery of this cult that is uh that is helping bring these monsters into existence and that show ended with um frank and james landing on a planet it was like a marsh world um And there's a joke throughout the show of this old lady that's constantly showing up saying, beware the Ides of March.

And they get on this marsh world that's literally called Marsh.

And they find this old temple and they go in and they fight their – Their nemesis, who's this guy named Victor Wanyama, who's like this shadowy cult figure who's been following them throughout the show.

Oh, really? There's like a big hole in the ground, essentially.

The Ides of March? The Ides of March, yeah.

Yeah.

The Ides of March was the event, right? Interesting, like crazy to think that, you know, we stand on the same places where such events happened.

I mean, I hope it happened there.

I don't actually know.

A certain seer warned Caesar to be on his guard against a great peril on the day of the month of March, which the Romans call the Ides.

And when the day had come, and Caesar was on his way to the Senate house, he greeted the seer with a jest, and said, Well, the Ides of March are come.

And the seer said to him softly, Ay, they are come, but they are not gone.

Moreover, on the day before, when Marcus Lepidus was entertaining him at supper, Caesar chanced to be signing letters, as his custom was, while reclining at table, and the discourse turned suddenly upon the question of what sort of death was the best.

Well, it's the Ides of March.

Julius Caesar had never worked out what exactly you do next.

For Octavian, he's never gonna forget the Ides of March.

He's never gonna forget Caesar's murder.
