House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 9 - A Proper F*cking from the North

The House of the Dragon Season 3 finale broke Rhaenyra for good — Chanel , Brandon and Sharmane recap the heel turn, Helaena's tragic end, and where Season 4 goes from here. 🐉Welcome back to We Was Watching, the podcast where we break down the shows everyone's talking about. This week we're recapping the House of the Dragon Season 3 finale (Episode 8) — the HBO Max episode where "the Realm's Delight" finally becomes something much darker. We get into ALL of it: Aegon's resurrection on Sunfyre pushing Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) over the edge, her order to wipe out the Hightowers at Tumbleton, her cruel treatment of Baela, Mysaria, and Helaena, the shocking execution of the High Septon, and her unhinged "Rhaenyra the Chosen" / Prince That Was Promised speech to a stunned King's Landing. Plus the disaster at Tumbleton — Ormund dead, but Ulf's betrayal and the loss of the Northmen turning it into a catastrophe — Helaena's heartbreaking death and the prophetic tapestry she leaves behind, and all the threats closing in that Rhaenyra doesn't even know about. We break down the Maegor the Cruel parallels from George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood, what it all means for the dragon math, and the setup for the fourth and final season. Full spoiler-filled review, breakdown, and ending explained.Team Green or Team Black — hit play and watch along with us. ▶️👍 Enjoyed this recap?
