Ormund Hightower

So right there in Fire & Blood we're being told we probably don't have the full story with these guys.

What they did change, uh, very explicitly from Fire & Blood was the battle setup at Tumbleton, 'cause at Fire, in Fire & Blood- You have the overwhelming might of Ormund Hightower's army that is, is being built up throughout Fire & Blood, uh, kind of like Renly's army at the start of A Clash of Kings.

The Reach tend to- tends to have this huge army 'cause they're the biggest and richest kingdom.

So you have that army for Team Green kind of looming over the fates of Team Black.

They've actually given him meaningful stuff to do.

Um, so I think that really helps.

Um, and then Freddie Fox and James Norton, our Hightower boys, um, they were a delight.

Um, even when some of the plotting was goofy, I think those two were just always on the top of the game.

I fucking loved it, bro.

Yeah, Ormund is-

Ormund's a cunt.

He's a great character.

I hate him.

And, like, Ormund...

How would you describe the character of Ormund Hightower in the book? He's-

Uh, almost nonexistent? I don't know.

[laughs] He's a Hightower.

Uh, for example, knowing wha- I mean, it's just, like, it, it's interesting because I think they do, like, a real bait and switch with Ormund, since we d- he's kind of a blank slate in the books.

They're free to make him...

Like, I think m- up to this point you're like, "God damn, Ormund Hightower's pretty fucking cool.

He's got this cool armor, and he's got, you know, uh, he seems like he's in charge.

It wasn't sudden.

You even see the moment of him being bribed by Ormund, and it seems to be kind of final at that point.

You don't know exactly what he's gonna do, but you don't really expect him to go against both sides, which creates an interesting, like, well, what's he gonna do now? But also, and, and you kind of wonder, well, why did he do that? Well, he was completely trashed and mad, and had, was kicked, literally kicked around by both sides.

So there's a lot of-

I, in general, I was not really surprised.

As soon as Ormund kicked him, it, it was like, um, a, a mirror of Daemon, what Daemon did to him, and he turned on Daemon.

Well, now Ormund, you're doing the same thing.

and confuses knights and lords, and I thought, again, a nice little scene that we got from a paragraph Yeah.

Um, we can move on to some land battles because we have, uh, Ormund Hightower, like in the show and the books, he's got 15,000 men that he's bringing up, uh, uh, from Oldtown, the extreme east coast of Westeros, bringing it across.

And, uh, Jim, would you like to say a big shocking difference between the way this goes down in the books and the show?
