Inside the Trojans' Huddle: No. 19 USC takes ugly win over Washington, can Trojans get it done at Penn State?

It didn't feel very satisfying in the end.

Well, I think that was basically kind of the feeling that I had.

You know, I think a lot of people had.

You know, when you have such a buildup to a season like SC's had, And, you know, you get a lot of positive stuff, which is fine.

But inside your, you know, it's one of those things, again, I've said it many times.

Your heart says, you know, beat them.

Let's beat them.

Let's dominate.

Let's do it.

And your head's going, well, you know what? You got to look at the pattern of behavior and things like that.

And, you know, they were coming off a loss, you know, and it was not a good loss, in my opinion, to Oregon.

So you really didn't know what to have to happen.

Bottom line is, you know, they got to win.

That's the most important thing.

And, you know, whether you win by one or you win by 30, it's OK.

But there is definitely, from my perspective, a pattern of behavior in the last three seasons, so to speak.

It's been up and down, up and down, you know, You think they're going to, you know, they're maybe going to make a statement and then they do something.

And I thought Washington really, there was a point where I thought Washington could win.

And, you know, I give credit to, you know, to the USC team and to the coaching staff for, you know, getting through it.

But it was one of those things that you got through it, but you say, what did we gain from it? But they did gain a win.

They're still in, you know, in the playoff hunt.

No question about it.

You know, they're now in the, you know, into the main stretch of the season.

And they're, you know, they've got teams that, you know, You take a look at, obviously, Penn State.

We'll talk about that later, I'm sure, that, you know, had their issues.
