Like, why force a teenager in 2026 who is dealing with the implications of artificial intelligence and a rapidly changing climate to read about nineteenth century English inheritance laws?

Or the pastoral plains of Willa Cather's Nebraska.

Exactly.

Couldn't you argue that schools should be abandoning these texts for things that are more contemporary and diverse? Are we just experiencing the classic generational kids these days lament?

And that roar from the crowd is the appearance of the Pittsburgh Steelers from their tunnel as they stand down there waiting for their introduction.

At right tackle for the Oakland Raiders, Bob Brown, number 76, who played his college ball for Bob Devaney at Nebraska.

And at right end, Ray Chester, number 87 from Oregon State.

What a tremendous collegiate season record he had at Nebraska.

I don't think it was very successful about it.

For a while in the campaign, it worked in Nebraska, but it didn't translate nationally.

I talked about the Obamacare worldview and the idea that if there's a problem in the world, the government just solving it.

I mean, it's themes and topics that you've written about much more eloquently than I have.

But I used for Nebraskans the Obamacare worldview topic.

But obviously, I was identified with being very critical of Obamacare as not a very effective policy solution.

And I still believe all that.

So either your congressional district or your state, if you were a senator, you could still raise national money, but you couldn't take the next dollar until you'd already made a dollar, raised a dollar at home among the people you were going to actually represent.

And just, yeah, you can tell like Hudson, Hudson was strutting around there like he's a pretty firm commit right now.

And so that's not to say that Nebraska can't.

shock the world here over the next four months and get him on campus a bunch but he hasn't shown any indication at this point that he's going to take a bunch of visits there he's only been to LSU so far and I think he's just taking it week to week so we'll see where he pops up next but you know it's good to see that he was out there and getting it and getting stuff done with LSU again spent some time with Will Wade and the basketball guys of course so Will Wade actually had a nice little five star at the 2028 class too on board so Xavier Young was another guy It was there for the basketball program.

But a couple other 2027 commits that I saw Peyton Houston was there.

It's like La Tech.

So all eyes on this one now for Pete Golding, the Louisiana native.

And then Kiffin, who I guess considers himself to be like a Lincoln, Nebraska native, but Baton Rouge native for now.

I'd written down kind of a couple of things.

There are tons of people who also are not football fans.

I'm like, oh my God.

The thing is, is that it's like, but Bears fans, I mean, I'm used to it because I grew up in Nebraska where everybody wears Nebraska gear.

I mean, head to toe.

And then he hosted a game show called Who Do You Trust here in New York City for about four or five years.

Fame in itself, when you're Carson and you have all those people knowing who you are, like you said with the drinks, it's a very – you get a drink.

You don't want to not drink the drink because then you're like, well, I'm upsetting a fan.

Yeah, you want to be polite, but that was – I mean he – He really wanted to be Nebraska where he was from.

I mean, you're Western Ontario.

That sounds like our equivalent here in America is if we're going west, driving through Nebraska.

So you call it Western Ontario, we call it Nebraska.

I wanted to give the dates here for the fall bull sales that are coming up very soon actually.

Nebraska is going to be in Valentine, Nebraska on Halloween, Saturday, October 31st.

The Colorado bull sale is November 9th in Burlington, Colorado.

The Montana bull sale is is November 17th at 1 p.m. And also that is the same day as the virtual Canadian bull sale.

you know, as you talked earlier, we're going to have an episode on quite recent history, but I'd love to do a real deep dive into a relatively small place where we can get a tangible kind of sense of a place by looking at its history.

So my point of reference for this is obviously my one trip to the US, which involved going to New York and my often mentioned excursion to Nebraska.

But I did find that interesting because while I was in Lincoln, I went into the archives there.

And there's a lot of interesting stories about farmsteaders and things like that, that are preserved in those archives, your first hand accounts, very similar to the kind of Dukas collections in ways and that were collected from a generation who are dying.
