In the third round of your rookie drafts, would you take a quarterback? And let's say Wiegman, Maiava, these are day two picks.

They're not first round quarterbacks.

He's got to just throw the damn ball with him.

Would any of these quarterbacks be Sam Leavitt as well? Would you just throw a dart in a rookie draft on one of those quarterbacks in round three if we're here at the 307 spot? I'm not going to make a pick until I hear from y'all because I really want to know.

And then when the pocket collapsed on the second interception, you know i mean i gotta say his uh his eyes were as big as saucers you know and and i mean he took his eyes down and was looking at the rush and then felt somebody kind of come from the front basically tried to just dink it out to a guy didn't even see the defender because his eyes didn't stay down field the whole time and and it was right to him but he didn't see him because you know he was so disoriented and confused

Yeah, I mean, look, here's the thing with Jadon Maiava, and Jadon Maiava's played a lot of really good football games for USC.

Absolutely, yes.

He's a big guy.

He has nice touch.

He's a good deep ball thrower.

Jadon Maiava's a good football player.

What Jadon Maiava struggles with is the processing side of the game.

How do you think USC pulls the upset? Like what's the route?

Well, I think Jane Maiava can't throw two interceptions, and we definitely can't see two shanks for field goals.

That just can't happen, stating the obvious.

But beyond that, the offensive line's got to do a better job protecting Maiava.

That's part of why he was in that sort of tough situation.

And the run game needs to, you know, reemerge, which was just non-existent considering I think it was, what, negative 57 rush yards due to, like, all the – well, that factors in Mayava getting sacked all the time.

It's not even close.

That's the most important position on the field.

feel like UCLA was the game where they got caught with their pants down by not taking all avenues as seriously as they should have.

You need to come into this game like you're playing Maiava and take away the passing game from Iowa because I don't think they'll run on us.

I just do not think they can rely on the running game to move all the way down the field.

They'll get stumped if that's the case.

They basically said, we're going to give everything we got in stopping Maiava and pressuring him to the point of just, I mean, honestly, like to the point where he was uncomfortable in that pocket and that offensive line couldn't stop Wisconsin.

I mean, five sacks, nine tackles for loss.

You held them to negative 15 yards rushing.

Two turnovers, forced a fumble, didn't recover it.

the two interceptions resulted in 50 yards, giving the Badgers short field for some scores.

So, I mean, you look at the offensive side of the ball where 58 yards passing, I mean, Maiava had 200 more passing yards than Colton Joseph and only put up seven points.

But overall we saw, a running game helped keep the Badgers, uh, on the offense on the field at least.

Like the thing that made Wisconsin successful, and it was the only way they were going to do it was running the ball, but it shrunk the game.

And Lincoln started to panic with the offensive play calling, and then Maiava was just sitting back there.

Just sitting back there, and you could tee off.

Yeah.

Ohio State should be able to just push them around and also win their game with their defense.

Grossi, I know, will be excited to watch Maiava, the quarterback at USC, has been on Tony's top five list, although he played and they played terrible this past weekend.

They are not coming into this game with a lot of momentum.

They just had him completely confused, couldn't run the ball.

after the catch so i completely understand what coach day was trying to relay to us and what he's been saying behind the scenes probably to the offensive line obviously to jeremiah and the playmakers and the running backs you guys got to uplift this quarterback yes he has to do his part but i said it last week i'm not going to be surprised if it has a feel of texas week one last year and to your point about not really knowing what you're getting until you get into a game Can't imagine they really knew what Julian was going to be before they saw it against Texas a week ago.

And so you hope that the defense can shore up this game and not allow Maiava and that unit to get up and down the field.

And you just got to hope that whoever the quarterback is, they don't screw it up.

And you can have guys around to make plays when they can have their number called.
