430 — Disclosure Day

um let's see i'm trying to think if i had movie news oh one bit of movie news dropped last week that i'm very excited for uh potential package coming in that Ridley Scott is going to direct an adaptation of Treasure Island.

This is very exciting for me because Ridley Scott Team Pirates has kind of been like on my wish list for years.

So...

Hooray me, if this happens.

Well, speaking of Ridley Scott, there's some other movie news this week.

Oh,

that's right.

That was the other thing, yeah.

Do you want to say?

So, yes, the announcement came this week that they have selected the honorary Oscars for this year for the 99th Academy Awards.

And they will be honoring director Sir Ridley Scott.

And they will be honoring Glenn Close, who has been nominated eight times for Oscars and has not yet won a competitive Oscar.

But she's finally getting her day.

And also Floyd Norman, who is a legendary Disney animator.

He worked on basically all the things from the glory days of Disney animation.

Yeah.

And then the Irving G. Thalberg Award is going to Christine Bacon and Pamela Koffler, who are producers.

They produce independent films.

So it's really exciting news.

And yeah, Ridley Scott getting his Oscar.

Finally.

I

mean, it's a bummer it's not a competitive Oscar, but I'll take it.

I'm sure he'll take it.

Yeah.
