What a wholesome ghost.

This one is from that YouTuber I sent you, Patrick Willems.

No review, no heart, but he said, this is going to be one of those movies that makes everyone mad and I will forever be the guy that slides in annoyingly to announce, well, I liked it.

Hey, that's me.

I remember seeing a video.

I think this was Patrick Willems on YouTube.

I don't keep track of his stuff as much lately anymore.

But it always stuck with me.

We are talking about, as Rain was kind of alluding to, the best live-action Spider-Man movie since Spider-Man 2.

Cinematographer Brett Pawlak and the colorist Tim Pool apparently saw that Patrick H. Willems video, everybody knows, about how comic book movies should exercise some color control and crank up the saturation like their printed counterparts.

They actually built a custom LUT for this show and did a bunch of like extensive camera and costume testing before production even kicked off.

And it shows.

Yeah, so okay.

So there is a YouTuber, a YouTube account guy named Patrick H. Willems.

It's at, it's actually @patrickhwillems.

And, uh, and he does a terrific series of videos, uh, across a, a range of subjects.

I think it's a little bit like, oh, guys, I wish you wouldn't do it again.

There's definitely that tension and that sadness, but there's just a realism as well of like, sometimes people slip up sometimes people go back but they they're always it's just there's a real truth to it and that they're all in different places in their lives i think is really cool and um and i just really love that it's a like i think you talked about tipping the hat and i think that's such a great sort of reference and um can kind of be my final thoughts on it which is the reason I watched it was I actually saw a video essay about nostalgia, about like legacy sequels by a guy named Patrick Willems on YouTube.

And then he mentioned it and I was like, Oh, stop spoiler warning.

So I stopped watching it.

did that? Everyone that came out of that production studio.

I'll also link Patrick H. Willems to this great video called the, I think it was the Death of the Music video, where he specifically talks about those group of people and what the filmmakers went on to do.

And it's insane.

The important movies that these guys did, they cut their teeth perfectly on these smaller productions.

I watched that.

I think that may have been the first time we had Patrick Willems join us for an episode as well.

That wasn't just an interview.

He was a real guest host.

I am saying that within live action, there are so many different ways that you can frame and present living actors.

That just also makes me think about certain videos put out, particularly by Patrick Willems.

The video in question is nine years old at this point, called Why Do Marvel's Movies Look Kind of Ugly? Speaking about the tendency towards, quote unquote, muddy concrete color grading.

I forget what Alex himself has had to say on the subject, even though I know he cares a lot about color grading in movies.
