The Lost World: Jurassic Park

I'm pretty sure it would have been The Lost World, not the first

one.

I think The Lost World ended up being written because they wanted to make

another movie.

Well, this was like the era of Will Smith having blockbuster, summer blockbuster after summer blockbuster.

But Jeff Goldblum was on quite a win as well because he'd like Jurassic Park, he'd The Lost World, Independence.

He had quite a few on a run and Will Smith was on a roll as well.

I mean,

even in Jurassic Park 2, the Lost World, when the T-Rex, when he comes to San Fran, he eats the dog.

Yeah, that was fucked up too.

Actually, they did it off screen and that one was kind of funny.

Not out of five.

Lost World is passable.

Lost World's a great film.

Everything after that is shite.

Well, you've lost me there because the lost world is passable, but everything after that is great.

That famous scene with the fallen fig tree that Jeep cannot get around, that is on Oahu.

Kauai carries a lot of the rest, including Allerton Garden down in Poipu, the same spot that shows up in both Jurassic Park and The Lost World, plus Waimea Canyon and the Nepali Coast standing in for that impossibly green, wildly dramatic Dinosaur Island.

Every Jurassic movie since has come back to shoot here at least a little, because once you have filmed the real thing, nothing built on the soundstage looks quite right next to it.

Kong Skull Island used Kauai and Oahu Bowl, and the 2014 Godzilla reboot shot footage on Oahu too, including a sequence where Godzilla's footprints get left in the sand.

your thoughts on the, all the sequels and, um, the worlds of it all?

Yeah, I liked Lost World.

I loved.

I still think that's great, but that's obviously Spielberg.

Even much later, in Jurassic Park...
