It was a long camp and I'm glad week one is here.

I always love this time of year because there's like that little bit of uncertainty about your football team, right? And every team goes through it.

Um, week one, Dan Campbell even said this week, like he won't really know what his team is about until like week five, you know, you'll know what you can hang your hat on, what your strengths are, what your weaknesses are, what you need to cover up.

And The week one is uncertainty.

You always see it with some of these games, week one, how the underdogs beat the favorites.

We saw it a few years ago when Kansas City was coming off that Super Bowl title and all the hoopla of unveiling their championship banner, and Detroit went in there and upset them and obviously started that run for this football team.

So week one is always fun because of that kind of uncertain and unknown element.

It's going to be fun to we didn't have joint practices here in training camp and I mentioned unbelievable for you got to week one.

That's genuinely what training camp has been Detroit on Detroit.

Dan Campbell said it best that it was just what the doctor ordered for this group.

And you know, I've covered past teams where joint practices are against different NFL organizations.

This was definitely one of the most competitive camps I've ever seen because you got to see that Jared Goff competitiveness against Kelvin Shepard and, you know, offense, defense, best on best going at each other.

I don't think people appreciate outside of Detroit.

Like if New Orleans media is watching this, I don't think they appreciate just the talent that the Lions are bringing back.

I think it's when you look at the top of the offense first, 14 combined Pro Bowls with Goff, Panay Sewell, Jameer Gibbs, Amon Ross St.

Brown.

You get Samuel Porter back who's coming off of last season, wanting to be healthy last year, coming into this season an exciting time.

And so I just think if you're a Detroit Lions fan, what did they not see if they weren't at training camp?

Well, I think you can get away with that, I think, Detroit.

And I'm talking about the joint practices.

And they've done those in years past.

And Dan's always talked about getting good work in there.

But it's a little bit of an uncontrolled setting.

And when you're just Detroit on Detroit, Dan can set up those situations exactly what he wants.

You're like, oh, yeah, but, you know, you're seeing a different opponent, a different scheme.
